- Broadway Across America presents To Kill A Mockingbird at Hobby Center | Tuesday, April 25 to Sunday, April 30 – Aaron Sorkin’s adaption of the international bestseller and beloved story by Harper Lee explores the explosive tensions in small town Alabama in the 1930s when white lawyer Atticus Finch agrees to defend Tom Robinson, a Black man at the center of a trial with his life on the line. $40 and up. - Classical Theatre Company’s 15th Anniversary Celebration & Performance at the Briar Club | Thursday, April 27 – The Houston performing arts company celebrates its anniversary with a night of highlights from the first 15 seasons of fan-favorite plays. $85. 6pm to 8pm.
- Windsync presents Rhapsody in Blue at MATCH | Thursday, April 27 – The chamber orchestra is joined by David Conner and Rainel Joubert for a pop and Latin jazz–infused duet. The evening also includes a performance of George Gershwin’s signature composition. $35. 7:30pm.
- Houston Symphony presents Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part Two at Jones Hall | Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30 – Watch the thrilling climax of the Harry Potter story as the orchestra plays the score live as the film screens above the orchestra. $65 and up. Thursday and Saturday at 7:30pm; Sunday at 2:30pm.
- Houston Grand Opera presents Salome at Wortham Center | Friday, April 28 | Ongoing – When John the Baptist spurns Salome’s advances, she performs the seductive Dance of the Seven Veils for King Herod. All she wants in exchange? John the Baptist’s head. This thrilling tale is based on the play by Oscar Wilde and brought to life in dazzling music by Strauss. $20 and up. Times vary.
- 9 to 5: The Musical at Art Factory | Friday, April 28 | Ongoing – Hear the hits of beloved country music icon Dolly Parton when Art Factory’s revival of this bombastic Broadway musical hits the Docks near Downtown. $30. Showtimes vary.
- ROCO presents Future at Church of St. John the Divine | Saturday, April 29 – Conductor Michelle Merrill makes her ROCO debut, leading the orchestra in the premiere of a ROCO-commissioned orchestral work by Juno Award–winner Vivian Fung, entitled Parade. Works by Beethoven, Stravinsky and Farrenc are also on the program. Pay-what-you-can ($35 suggested). 5pm.
- Performing Arts Houston presents Ak Dan Gwang Chil (ADG7) in Concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, April 29 | FREE – The three powerhouse female folk singers that make up this ensemble, also known as ADG7, hit the Miller stage with a repertoire inspired by Korea’s sacred, shamanic ritual music and the folk songs of Hwanghae Province. 8:15pm.
- Music Box Theater presents The Greatest Hits Album Side B: Moving Boxes at Queensbury Theatre | Saturday, April 29 | Ongoing – The cabaret troupe celebrates the move to its new home in CityCentre with an evening of jazz, pop, rock and Broadway tunes from the 1960s through the ‘90s. $38 and up. Times vary.
- Wild She Dances presents Mill: An Immersive Performance at The Silo | Saturday, April 29 & Sunday, April 30 – Inspired by and performed at the abandoned Comet Rice Mill in Fifth Ward, this performance relives historic moments of the 1950s. Throughout the evening, audience members are led through the mill, where they will be immersed in scenes of laborious factory work, lessons on how women should act at work, and more. $35 and up. Times vary.
- Musiqa presents New Dimensions in Sight and Sound at MATCH | Saturday, April 29 & Sunday, April 30 – New works by emerging composers from Houston and beyond highlight this concert that accompanies a new video installation by Carrie Marie Schnieder. Pay-what-you-can. Saturday 7:30pm; Sunday 4pm.
- Hits! The Musical at Wortham Center | Sunday, April 30 – Youth performers from 10 to 22 years old perform a music journal of medleys that feature some of America’s most iconic songs—including such well-known classics as “Hero,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Singing in The Rain” and more. $29 and up. 3pm.
- Turath: An Evening of Art, Culture, and Music With National Arab Orchestra at Asia Society Texas Center | Sunday, April 30 – In celebration of Eid al-Fitr, this performance with the National Arab Orchestra highlights the richness and beauty of the Arab world, preceded by a free curated art show and book signings. $150. 4pm to 9pm.
- The Metzler New Works Festival at the George Theater | Sunday, April 30 | Ongoing | FREE – Celebrate the best in new plays and musicals that explore the intersection of faith and storytelling at this three-day festival of playwright premieres. This festival goes until Tuesday, May 2. Free, but you must register for tickets. 7:30pm.
