Top 12 Family Things To Do in Houston This Week

  • Rhyme Time for Babies & Toddlers at the Woodlands Children’s Museum | Tuesday, April 4 – Babies, toddlers, and their parents or caregivers are invited to an interactive Rhyme Time just for the little ones, where they’ll sing songs, learn hand rhymes and get valuable socialization time with others. $8 for adults and ages 1 and up. 10:15am.
  • Meet & Greet with author Sarah Mlynowski at Brazos Bookstore | Tuesday, April 4 | FREE – The author of the enchanting kids’ book, Best Wishes, Sarah Mlynowski arrives to the Bissonnet book store for a meet and greet. 4pm to 5pm.
  • My First Orchestral Concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Tuesday, April 4 & Wednesday, April 5 | FREE – Prelude Music Foundation offers a free and interactive, 45-minute live music experience for young kiddos. Designed for newborns through first graders, the concert give kids and their families a chance to sing, dance and celebrate the power of music, thanks to performances by Houston Symphony, Apollo Chamber Players and Mercury Chamber Orchestra. 11am both days.
  • Children’s Bingo at Levy Park | Thursday, April 6 | FREE – This 30-minute program, ideal for ages 4 to 12, is a fun way for children to practice their letters and numbers while earning prizes. Levy Park will provide the Bingo cards, markers, and prizes. 4:30pm.
  • Basics Fun Shops: Free Family Night at Children’s Museum Houston | Thursday, April 6 | FREE – Through a series of free “fun-shops”, new parents are encouraged to practice the basics and build an early foundation for their children to be able to read, speak, solve problems, do well in school, and have positive relationships later in life. 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
  • Brunch with the Bunny at Brennan’s Houston | Friday, April 7 – Snap a picture with the Easter Bunny and enjoy a festive 3-course brunch at Brennan’s Houston. Reservations are required. 9:30am to 1pm.
  • Minions: The Rise of Gru Movie Screening at Discovery Green | Friday, April 7 | FREE – Gather on the lawn in Downtown for a screening of the 2022 animated film that tracks the rise of Gru, voiced by Steve Carell. 7pm to 8:30pm.
  • Artrageous at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, April 7 | FREE – Watch as artists create large-scale masterpieces before your very eyes, set to exciting music and captivating choreography. This multidisciplinary show celebrates the arts with a visual journey punctuated with passionate energy from the assembled artists, singers, dancers and musicians that make Artrageous come alive. 8pm.
  • Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Moody Gardens | Friday, April 7 & Saturday, April 8 – Pull up a seat with the Easter Bunny at this annual Galveston breakfast that also includes a train ride, animal presentation and a special souvenir photo. $42; $28 for ages 2 to 12. Times vary.
  • Easter Egg Hunt with Goats at Rose Therapeutic Farm in Fulshear | Friday, April 7 & Saturday, April 8 | FREE – Meet some adorable goats living on Rose Therapeutic Farm while participating in an Easter egg hunt and other family-friendly activities. $20 and up. Times vary.
  • Easter Egg Hunt at Seawolf Park | Saturday, April 8 | FREE – On the east side of the Island, families are invited for a morning of Easter egg hunts, photo ops with the Easter Bunny, face painting, music, game, free donuts and cotton candy, and more. Free to attend; parking is $6. 9am to 1pm.
  • Champagne Charles Heidsieck Cup at Houston Polo Club | Sunday, April 9 – Kick off the spring polo season with a special Easter match day featuring an Easter egg and candy toss for kids at halftime. Plus, enjoy live music and onsite concessions from David Cordúa’s The Lymbar. $35; $15.50 for ages 12 and under. Boxes for 2 to 20 guests range from $89 to $895. 5pm.
