- TUTS presents Legally Blonde at Hobby Center | Tuesday, April 4 to Sunday, April 16 – It’s, like totally happening, you guys! The effervescent musical based on the hit movie starring Reese Witherspoon hits the Hobby Center stage with a message about staying true to yourself and never letting others define who you are. $40 and up. - Houston Grand Opera presents Monkey & Francine in the City of Tigers at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Tuesday, April 11 to Thursday, April 13 | FREE – In this HGO-commissioned work, Monkey and his super-smart sister Francine must get over their sibling rivalry and work together to defeat hungry crocodiles and the fierce Lord of Tigers. Adventure awaits. 11am.
- A.D. Players presents The Play That Goes Wrong at the George Theater | Wednesday, April 19 | Ongoing – If Monty Python and Sherlock Holmes combined forces to write a play, it might well be this one, where a band of thespians attempt to get through a performance in the face of calamities. - Evelyn R. Rubenstein JCC presents Photograph 51 at Joe Frank Theatre of the Arts | Thursday, April 20 to Sunday, April 30 – Directed by Mildred’s Umbrella Theatre founder Jennifer Decker, this moving play tells the story of scientist Rosalind Franklin and her contributions to the discovery of the DNA molecule. $25. - The Garden Theatre presents Steel Magnolias at MATCH | Friday, April 21 to Sunday, April 30 – This enduring story of female friendship in triumph and sadness explores the intertwined lives of six Southern women who gather in Truvy’s beauty shop. $25. Showtimes vary.
- Houston Grand Opera presents Tosca at Wortham Center | Friday, April 21 | Ongoing – Puccini’s dazzling tour de force follows the story of singer Floria Tosca, madly in love with painter Cavaradossi. Their love affair is threatened by the Baron Scarpia, who desires Tosca for himself. Star soprano and HGO Studio alumna Tamara Wilson makes her role debut as Tosca. - Broadway Across America presents To Kill A Mockingbird at Hobby Center | Tuesday, April 25 to Sunday, April 30 – Aaron Sorkin’s adaption of the international bestseller and beloved story by Harper Lee explores the explosive tensions in small town Alabama in the 1930s when white lawyer Atticus Finch agrees to defend Tom Robinson, a Black man at the center of a trial with his life on the line. $40 and up. - Windsync presents Rhapsody in Blue at MATCH | Thursday, April 27 – The chamber orchestra is joined by David Conner and Rainel Joubert for a pop and Latin jazz–infused duet. The evening also includes a performance of George Gershwin’s signature composition. $35. 7:30pm.
- Houston Symphony presents Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part Two at Jones Hall | Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30 – Watch the thrilling climax of the Harry Potter story as the orchestra plays the score live as the film screens above the orchestra. $65 and up. Thursday and Saturday at 7:30pm; Sunday at 2:30pm.

- The Greatest Hits Album: Side A at the Music Box Theater | Through Saturday, April 8 – The acclaimed cabaret is moving to CityCentre in May, and they’re bidding farewell to their Kirby and Richmond location with this concert featuring some of their favorites over the last dozen years. Expect a show with genres ranging from ‘50s hits to Disco jives and more. $35 and up. Showtimes vary.
- The Book of Mary at MATCH | Through Sunday, April 9 – Written by and starring Mary Hooper, this world premiere is the story of the artist’s growing up in Beaumont to deaf parents, being part of Montrose in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and finding a career on stage. $40. Showtimes vary.
- 4th Wall Theatre Co. presents Sanctuary City at Spring Street Studios | Through Saturday, April 15 – Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Martyne Majok explores the lives of two undocumented friends, trying to find a place for themselves and each other in a world filled with uncertainty. This production runs through Saturday, April 15. $32 and up. Showtimes vary.
- Clyde’s at Ensemble Theatre | Through Sunday, April 16 – For the formerly incarcerated employees who work at Clyde’s, the truck stop is a place for them to find purpose. Can they rebuild their lives and dreams of more when a callous owner tries to keep them under her thumb? This production runs through Sunday, April 16. $34 and up. Showtimes vary.
