Explore Larry Garmezy’s colorfully curious new photography at the debut of Stuck, Archway Gallery’s March 2022 exhibition, from Saturday, March 5 through Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Larry Garmezy is one quirky photographer. A retired geologist he’s spent his life as a photographer inspired by nature’s beauty and his unique digital photographic techniques are quite stunning.

Normally, he travels to the springs of the Northern Rocky Mountains for inspiration but, stuck at home during the COVID lockdowns, he turned to a water source closer to home—his 50-year old swimming pool.

The patterns formed by the circulation jets function as a stand-in for the natural water surface distortion and ripples he usually photographs. Garmezy’s show, Stuck, is a unique, frequently playful, chronicle of a disrupted life, a deserted downtown, and how stuck we, as individuals, remain as our society ripples and shifts.

Stuck Opening Reception

There will be a live, in-person opening reception at the gallery on Saturday, March 5, 2021 from 5pm to 8pm.

Garmezy will be on hand to visit with guests on opening day, Saturday, November 6, from noon through 8pm and will talk about his work at 6:30pm during the free opening reception.

Free complimentary valet and light refreshments will be available during the reception.
