- 47th Annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour | Saturday, May 1 & Sunday, May 2 – Explore the grand interiors of historic homes on Galveston Island—some of which are not typically open to the public—across two weekends of self-guided tours and special ticketed events. $35 in advance; raises to $40 on Monday, April 26. Tickets are good for the Saturday and Sunday of the weekend you select. 10am to 6pm.

- History on Tap Happy Hour with the Nao Santa María & 1877 Elissa at Galveston Historic Seaport | Saturday, May 1 – Explore two wonders of the sea when Galveston Historical Foundation hosts a special happy hour of craft beer and tours of the 1877 Tall Ship Elissa alongside the visiting Nao Santa María (which will be leaving port after this weekend) at Galveston Historic Seaport. $40 per person, includes two drink tickets; additional drinks may be purchased. 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
- Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors at Toyota Center | Saturday, May 1 – With only a few games remaining at Toyota Center this season, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors swing through town to take on the Rockets. $43 to over $450, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork marketplace. 6:30pm.
- Cinco de Mayo at Miller: Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, May 1 | FREE | Virtual Option – Witness Grammy Award-winning mariachi music when Miller Outdoor Theatre returns and debuts its 2021 season with a special Cinco de Mayo celebration featuring Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, an all-female ensemble that continues to expand the scope of mariachi music.
