- Hard Knocks Day at Houston Texans Training Camp at the Houston Methodist Training Center | Monday, August 3 – The first 100 people to bring a new school supply item will receive a premium item from the new Hard Knocks With the Houston Texans show debuting on HBO next week. Tailgate judging 4:15pm to 5:30pm; practice 6pm to 9pm.
- Nature Story Time & Family Nature Night: Slithery Snakes | Wednesday, August 5 – Enjoy storytime and then stick around to meet Houston-area live snakes! There will be crafts, nature walks and snacks. 7pm.
- George Hermann’s 172nd Birthday Celebration at Hermann Park | Thursday, August 6 | FREE – Children 12 and under can ride the Hermann Park Railroad for $1.72. The Houston Fire Department will present a fire safety puppet show.
