Plan for your fall and holiday renovations and entertaining at the inaugural Katy Home Improvement Expo at the Merrell Center on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Created by the team behind the beloved Katy Home and Garden Show that happens every spring, the Katy Home Improvement Expo is an exciting, free fall experience for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts.

Curated Home & Living Exhibitors

Guests can expect to visit with a curated cadre of exhibitors specializing in everything from kitchen and bathroom remodels to outdoor living spaces.

The weekend will also be filled with exclusive deals, hands-on demonstrations, and insightful seminars to elevate every corner of the home.

Expect to find cutting-edge trends in home improvement, from smart technologies to sustainable materials, with all expert advice under one roof.

Speakers & Workshops

A slate of guest speakers will be on hand discussing wellness, gardening, inspiration, and more across the weekend.

Charley Fisher from Urban Garden Plants will also lead two workshops on both days: Just Add Water: A Fall Garden Starter Kit—which comes with an actual starter kit complete with seedlings, plants and a fall plan—and The Beginner’s Guide to Fall Container Plants. All are free but space is limited, so register online at Urban Garden Plants.

The Posh Plank serves up a slate of ideas on fall and holiday grazing boards at Charcuterie BOARDing School, while Juice Plus’ health and wellness expert and enthusiast Andrea Bohn will lead a Sourdough & Gut Health Workshop. Guests in the latter will everything they need to make bread at the show and bake at home including a mixing bowl, starter, a dutch whisk, tea towel, mini spatula, and mason jar plus a 103-year-old sourdough dehydrated mother to keep the process going. And the bespoke woodworking husband and wife team Kellie and Jason Sartain, owners of Sartain’s Awesome Shoppe in Bellville, Texas will entertain and educate with their workshop How to survive…Renovating a house with a spouse. They’ll share stories from their complete renovation of a vintage farmhouse, rom unexpected structural surprises to lively discussions about design choices all while raising six kids.

Family Friendly Fun

There’s also plenty for the younger set to explore like the feature area Tinker Town Kid’s Zone on Level 2.

Plus, the Youth Entrepreneur Market  gives students from ages 6 to 17 the chance to market their own businesses, featuring a wide array of products designed, marketed, and run by young people in the community.
