Inspire the kiddos with more than 90,000 square feet of interactive and imaginative exhibits at the Children’s Museum Houston in the Museum District.

Located in the heart of the Museum District, this uber-popular family destination features a wealth of hands-on activities that aim to excite, engage, and inspire children.

Home to nearly twenty unique exhibits designed exclusively for kids, Children’s Museum Houston offers a slew of interactive activities ripe for discovery including the Inventors’ Workshop, Kidtropolis, Constructioneering, a Tot*Spot, the Power Science Lab and more.

Got a wild imagination? Head to the main walkway known as Kids’ Hall to play on the Junktion Train, check out traveling art and culture exhibitions, facepaint, and create with new activities every week.

For kiddos in search of the science behind everything, hit the Matter Factory, where they can explore the building blocks of matter and immerse themselves in the Periodic Table of the Elements.

No matter the kiddo or what their imagination is in the mood for, young explorers have plenty to discover with exhibitions and monthly special events including Puppy Bowls, Princess Parties, Sensory Friendly Days, Robotics Days, holiday events and more.

Before You Visit

Visitors should note that children younger than 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

For the safety of young visitors, adults unaccompanied by children will not be allowed admission into the Children’s Museum of Houston.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly day of fun, then drop by on Thursdays when the museum provides free admission from 5pm to 8pm as part of the fun, free “Family Night”.

  • Location: Children’s Museum Houston, 1500 Binz St, Houston, TX 77004
  • Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 6pm; Thursday 10am to 8pm; Sunday noon to 6pm; closed Mondays.

  • Parking: Free street and paid lot parking is available on site.
  • Admission: Admission is $12 for adults and ages 1 and older; $11 for senior citizens ages 65 and older; $10 for members of military with active ID; ages under 1 get in free. Adults accompanying a child to the museum must be 18 years or older. Children younger than 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Free Thursdays for Family Night from 5pm to 8pm.
