Raise your glass to classic cocktails, an enormous spirits selection, and skilled, friendly bartenders at Anvil Bar and Refuge.

Located on the Westheimer Curve, this Montrose mainstay is dedicated to making the best drinks with the highest quality spirits and ingredients they can find.

Established in 2009 by owners Bobby Heugel and Steve Flippo, this modern watering hole that put Houston on the mixed drink map was notably opened as Houston’s first bar devoted to classic cocktails.

And with a list of 100 of their favorite classics they believe just have to be tried, visitors from Houston and far beyond flock to this industrial-chic drink destination for their thoughtful concoctions and housemade bitters.

In addition to the wide-array of quality classics, there are always eight original cocktails on the menu, a small well-edited selection of beers on tap, and if you come hungry, they have a small, but mouth-watering menu of bites worth checking out.
