Get to know Missouri City as you immerse yourself in local food, music, and art at the free, two-day Community Night Out on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8, 2017.
This fall, the “Show Me City” is set to host another family-friendly Community Night Out weekend at their City Hall Complex featuring two exciting days full of live music, art, and food for residents and visitors alike.
The city’s 2nd Annual celebration, guests will get the chance to try eats from local restaurants and food trucks, shop event booths that highlight local businesses, take part in interactive activities like rock climbing, a laser show or a bounce house for the kiddos and more.
If the food and shopping weren’t enough, guests to this free celebration can dance the days away to live music from Saturday’s headliner, legendary jazz artist Kim Waters; Sunday’s headliner, Grammy Award-winning Zydeco musician Wayne Toups; and a slew of other national acts.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and to arrive early to secure a spot to watch both day’s live entertainment. Click here for a complete list of event information.
Saturday’s Live Performances & Entertainment
The free-to-attend celebration’s festivities kick off Saturday at 4pm and continue until 10pm that evening, jam-packed with fun-for-all-ages activities.
Residents and visitors are invited to sway their way through a live performance by legendary jazz saxophonist Kim Waters and performances from national artists like saxophonist Kyle Turner, Step Rideau & the Zydeco Outlaws, country artist Coffey Anderson, as well as a number of Mariachi groups.
Be on the lookout for fun festivities throughout Saturday including a spectacular laser show, food trucks, bounce houses, a rock climbing wall, face painting, a public safety apparatus, event booths and more.
This year’s event will also be highlighted by a special event tent where guests will be able to purchase and taste delicious foods and beverages from area vendors.
Sunday’s Cultural Festival & Health Fair
Make sure to stop back through on Sunday afternoon, as the city will be showcasing its very first Cultural Festival and Health Fair from 2:30pm to 8:30pm.
Guests can immerse themselves in a global array of food and art at this inaugural event as well as enjoy live entertainment from four-time Grammy Award-winning Zydeco musician Wayne Toups, the Conrad Johnson Orchestra, and jazz violinist Karen Briggs.
Restaurants and vendors will also be out in full force to represent the “Show Me City” as will local artists and artisans.
Healthcare providers will be on-site, too, offering screenings and sharing essential information.
