- Valentine’s Candlelight Concert at Post Houston’s Z Atrium | Wednesday, February 7 | FREE – Enjoy beautifully sultry music as the Monarch Chamber Players perform an intimate and romantic set by candlelight including Bizet’s “Carmen,” tangos by Astor Piazzolla, and more. Free with RSVP; reserved seating available for $15. 7pm.
- Rom Com Movie Trivia at Houston Toy Museum | Thursday, February 8 – Think you know your Four Weddings & A Funeral from When Harry Met Sally? Grab your friends, form a team and head to the Heights to square off against other rom com movie buffs. BYOB and snacks welcome. $10; includes museum admission. 7pm.
- Houston Symphony presents Perlman Conducts Tchaikovsky 5 at Jones Hall | Thursday, February 8 to Sunday, February 11 – World-renowned violinist Itzak Perlman leads the symphony in Tchaikovsky’s beloved work. The concert also features music from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and George Walker’s deeply moving Lyric for Strings. $34 and up. Thursday and Saturday at 8pm; Sunday at 2:30pm.
- Love You to Death at Hardy & Nance Studios | Friday, February 9 | FREE – This annual art show tackles the themes of love and loss in all its forms, seen through a variety of media. The show includes complimentary beverages from City Orchard, Bad Astronaut, Equal Parts Brewery and Eureka Heights, as well as the studio’s own love potion cocktail, along with wine options. A food truck vendor will be onsite. 7pm.
- Time for Three at Wortham Center | Friday, February 9 – Melding the genres of Americana, modern pop and classical music, this Grammy-winning trio bring their latest album, Letters for the Future, to the Downtown concert hall. $19 and up. 7:30pm.
- Eli Young Band in Concert at Mardi Gras! Galveston | Friday, February 9 – Get ready to party as Texas’ very own Eli Young Band, famous for their chart-topping hit “Crazy Girl,” takes the stage to wrap up the headlining concert series at the 113th Mardi Gras! Galveston. Concerts and entertainment are included with Mardi Gras! Galveston general admission, starting at $14 per day; free for ages 12 and under. Multi-day packages and VIP Balcony Party options are available. 10:45pm.

- Stomp at Smart Financial Centre | Friday, February 9 & Saturday, February 10 – For back-to-back nights, Stomp brings its international sensation to Sugar Land, letting audiences feel the pulse of rhythmic percussion across a stage full of everyday objects. $30 and up. Times vary.
- Comedian Shawn Wayans at Houston Improv | Friday, February 9 & Saturday, February 10 – A member of the legendary comedic brothers, Shawn Wayans take the Spring Branch stage for back-to-back nights of hilarity building on his storied film and comedy career. $110 for 2, and up. Times vary.
- AnimeVerse Fest at NRG Center | Friday, February 9 to Sunday, February 10 – Join fellow fanatics for a weekend of anime-fueled fun. Meet voice actors from beloved animes, shop one-of-a-kind goods from local vendors, plus take in panels, cosplay contests and more at this inaugural show. $20 and up. Times vary.
- 2024 Lunar New Year Festival: Year of the Dragon at Chinese Community Center of Houston | Saturday, February 10 | FREE – Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with the return of CCC’s annual Lunar New Year Festival, featuring a full day of family-friendly activities, local vendors, merch, Asian street eats and live cultural performances. 10am to 4pm.
- LAMARdi Gras at Chapman & Kirby | Saturday, February 10 – The EaDo nightlife spot channels the streets of the French Quarter with an abundance of beads, an action-packed live music lineup, a delicious Crescent City-inspired menu—from The Warwick, Chapman & Kirby and Southern Jerks—specialty cocktails—Spiced Hurricanes, Nola 75s and Sazerac—and more. $10 and up. Noon to 6pm.
- Lunar New Year Festival & Night Market at Market Square Park | Saturday, February 10 | FREE – The Downtown park space hosts this all-evening market with local artisans and food vendors, plus lion and dragon dance performances. 3pm to 9pm.
- Mardi Gras on Main in La Porte | Saturday, February 10 | FREE – Rolling into another year in downtown La Porte, Mardi Gras on Main promises an evening of fun, revelry and New Orleans–style flair—complete with roaming performers like stilt walkers, jugglers and more. Shop markets, catch a live performance by Nooney & the Zydeco Floaters, enjoy the annual Second Line parade and more festivities. 4pm to 8pm.

- Tapas on the Trails at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Saturday, February 10 – Enjoy tasty Italian tapas and perfectly paired wine and beer at this evening event that also features a romantic walk through the forest along softly lit trails. Each guest will experience five food and beverage stations and take home a commemorative glass. $110. 5pm to 7pm.
- Comedian Willie Barcena at House of Blues | Saturday, February 10 – The comic comes to Downtown for a night of hilarious, sharp-witted, irreverent comedy—spanning family, religion, race, sex, politics, and whatever else you aren’t supposed to talk about. $29.50 and up. 7pm.
- Souls of Black Houston at Hobby Center | Saturday, February 10 | FREE – Honoring Black History Month, this performance also commemorates the dance company’s 20th anniversary. It features Colored Carnegie as a highlight, telling a vital story of Houston’s Black history, in which Black residents petitioned for the building of the Houston Colored Carnegie Library at a time when no institution of its kind existed for non-white citizens. The night is rounded with performances of Sugar Shack, Black Bodies in White Spaces, and two alumni works. $38 and up. 7:30pm.
- I Went to the Dance Movie Screening at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston | Saturday, February 10 & Sunday, February 11 – Explore the world of Cajun culture and Zydeco in this Les Blank documentary from 1989 that recounts the history of the toe-tapping music and includes appearances from legends like Michael Doucet and BeauSoleil, Clifton Chenier, and many others. $9. Saturday 7pm; Sunday 5pm.
- Tidbits Rodeo Market at Goode Co. Armadillo Palace | Sunday, February 11 – Get Rodeo ready at this annual marketplace that offers everything you need to put together an outfit, including custom hats, boots, bandanas, jewelry, denim, turquoise and more. $5. 11am to 3pm.
- Lunar New Year Market at M-K-T | Sunday, February 11 | FREE – The Heights shopping and dining hub hosts a celebration with a lion and dragon parade, red envelopes for all, free beer for the adults, and a local vendor market, plus a plant swap. 11am to 5pm.
- Puppy Bowl at Axelrad | Sunday, February 11 | FREE – The neon beer garden in Midtown hosts Caitie’s Foster Fam Rescue for a puppy adoption event, as well as dog-friendly mocktails and other pup-friendly vendors, with the Big Game screening through the night. 3pm to 7pm.
