- Pan-African Passport at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Wednesday, September 21 | FREE – Through colorful drumming and dance, Kucheza Ngoma Dance Company and Manning Mpinduzi-Mott will chronicle the influence of the African diaspora on dance, starting with traditional West African rhythms then moving on through the Caribbean and into the Americas. 11am.
- Glow in the Park at Texas TreeVentures | Friday, September 23 – This monthly event at the canopy-scaling Woodlands adventure park offers a three-hour sunset climb that turns into a nighttime thrill with headlamps and various illuminations throughout the park for a new perspective on the tree-strung course. Ages 6 and up; adult supervision required. $60 per person. 7pm.
- 86th Annual Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo in Rosenberg | Opens Friday, September 23 | Daily – Through the first Sunday in October, this 10-day fair and rodeo features carnival rides, BBQ competitions, concerts, a farmer’s market, a crawfish boil, a fishing tournament, and much more. Season passes are available for $40; single day admission is $15 at the gate; $5 for ages 6 to 11; free for ages 5 and under. Times vary.
- 15th Annual CAC Duck Race at Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures | Saturday, September 24 – This 15th annual fundraiser supports Community Assistance Center by sending 10,000 rubber ducks tumbling, splashing and bobbing down the lazy river at the Conroe waterpark. Adopt a duck to win it all and you could have a chance at prizes and cash. $5 to adopt at duck. 9am to 11am.
- The Kids are All Write at Smither Park | Saturday, September 24 – Kids ages 7 to 12 can have fun writing and sharing their own stories and poems at eclectic Smither Park with the former director of Writers in the Schools, Robin Reagler. $5. 10am to 12pm.
- Storytime with Peter Pan at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday, September 24 – Fairytale character Peter Pan flies into the Children’s Museum Houston, for a story time experience and craft activity. $15 for ages 1 and up. 10am to 1pm.
- Fairy Gardening at Houston Botanic Garden | Sunday, September 25 – Katherine McDaniel, founder and director of Synkroniciti, will teach participants to repurpose fallen leaves, seedpods, stones, shells, dried flowers, and more to construct whimsical fairy houses and create a miniature garden for fairies and gnomes. $28. 10am to 1pm.
- S&S Youth Foundation Kickoff at Blossom Hotel Houston | Sunday, September 25 | FREE – Learn about teen leadership and confidence-building opportunities as S&S Youth invites teens and parents for their kick-off meeting. 2pm to 4pm.
- Houston Museum of Natural Science at Levy Park | Sunday, September 25 | FREE – Go sky gazing at Levy Park as astronomers set up a telescope to explain the mechanisms behind the equipment and guide you through identification techniques. 2pm to 4pm.
- Lewis Jewelers Classic at Houston Polo Club | Sunday, September 25 – The Houston polo season continues with the Lewis Jewelers Classic, featuring world class polo, a player parade, expert announcing, live music, Champagne divot stomp at halftime and special trophy presentation. $35; $15.50 for ages 12 and under. Boxes for 2 to 20 guests range from $89 to $895. 5pm.
