- Trick-or-Treating at Department of Wonder | Halloween, Monday, October 31 – The brand new Department of Wonder at Sugar Land Town Square hosts a special afternoon of trick-or-treating in one of the most unique, fantastical settings in Greater Houston. $20. Advance reservations are required. 3pm to 6pm.
- Trick-or-Treat at 1838 Menard House in Galveston | Halloween, Monday, October 31 | FREE – The oldest residence in Galveston opens its gates for trick-or-treaters to swing by for pre-packaged treats on the porch. 5pm to 6:30pm.
- Boo Bash at Humble Civic Center | Halloween, Monday, October 31 | FREE – Bring the kids over to Humble Civic Center to celebrate Halloween at the 3rd annual Boo Bash. Activities include live performances by local dance and drill teams, face painting, inflatables, a costume contest, and of course, plenty of candy. There will also be food and beverages available for purchase. 5pm to 9pm.
- Boogie Bash: Fingerplays and Action Songs at the Woodlands Children’s Museum | Tuesday, November 1 – Bring the kids to enjoy traditional children’s music and rhymes such as Five Little Monkeys and The Wheels on the Bus through fingerplays, creative movement, and marching with rhythm instruments. $7.50 for ages 1 and up. 11am.
- Pout Pout Fish at the Grand 1894 Opera House | Thursday, November 3 – Bring the family out to the Grand in Galveston to enjoy the new musical, Pout Pout Fish, featuring whimsical puppets and live performers in a sweeping oceanic adventure. $10; $6 for children (no age specified). 10am.
- Family Philanthropy Day at Kid’s Meals | Saturday, November 5 | FREE – Start the kids on their journey to serving with a family day at Kid’s Meals in Independence Heights, a local organization focused on fighting food insecurity in the Houston area. Children ages 5 and over will get the opportunity to decorate lunch bags for children, make Thanksgiving cards, create holiday and encouragement cards for children in the Refugee Services program, learn more about the issue in Houston and more. Registration required. 8:30am to noon.
- 2nd Annual Houston Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival at Sam Houston Park | Saturday, November 5 | FREE – After a successful inaugural parade in 2021, the Día de los Muertos festival returns to Downtown, offering an evening of live music, a parade procession from 7pm to 8pm, delicious concessions, arts and crafts, and more. Free to participate in the parade, but traditional attire—full of pageantry and beauty—is recommended. 2pm to 10pm.
- The Mighty Ducks Movie Screening at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, November 5 | FREE – Catch a screening of the 1992 movie, The Mighty Ducks at Miller Outdoor Theatre. This Disney movie tells the story of an egotistical young lawyer, Gordon Bombay, convicted of drunken driving who is sentenced to coach a kids’ hockey team made up of misfits. 7pm.
- Houston Diwali 2022 at Fountains on the Lake in Stafford | Saturday, November 5 | FREE – Celebrate the Festival of Lights with live music, dance performances, rides, a live DJ, traditional street foods, and fireworks at Fountains of the Lake in Stafford. 7pm to midnight.
- Día de los Muertos at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday, November 5 & Sunday, November 6 – The Children’s Museum celebrates Day of the Dead with a special two-day event that stretches into Sunday, when the museum is typically closed. Enjoy crafting sugar skull masks and marigold garlands, hear the sounds of Mariachi Monarco, and create sugar skull art with artist Christian Navarrete. $15 for ages 1 and up. 10am to 6pm.
- 10th Annual Houston Palestinian Festival at the Crown Festival Park | Saturday, November 5 & Sunday, November 6 – Experience Palestinian culture and heritage at the 10th Annual Houston Palestinian Festival. Festivities include international super star Haitham Khalaily performing both nights, plus vendors, food, exhibits, cultural performances, kids’ activities, and more. $11 to $62. - 2022 Houston Congenital Heart Walk at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Sunday, November 6 – The annual walk and fundraiser features family-friendly activities and entertainment, remembrances, and exciting research updates on their progress. This event supports the mission of the Children’s Heart Foundation to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the research.
