- Children’s Kwanzaa Day 2: Kujichagulia at Nia Becnel Family Center | Monday, December 27 | FREE – At the community center on Live Oak Street, families are invited to celebrate the second principle of Kwanzaa, Kujichagulia, or “self-determination.” 10am to 2pm.
- Boogie Bash: Parachute, Scarf, and Bean Bag Fun at the Woodlands Children’s Museum | Tuesday, December 28 | FREE – Bring the kiddos to enjoy fun movement activities using the parachute, scarves, and bean bags at the Woodlands Children’s Museum. - MFAH’s Bayou Bend presents Virtual Winter Camp: Learn, Play, Celebrate | Tuesday, December 28 & Wednesday, December 29 | FREE | Virtual – The Bayou Bend education team presents a virtual winter camps, providing an online look at the ways children and families infused brightness and joy into the midwinter holidays in early America. The two-day interactive workshop explores celebrations during the 1600s, 1700s, and early 1800s and is designed for ages 6 to 10. 4pm to 5pm.
- Stages presents Panto Little Mermaid at the Gordy | Wednesday, December 29 to New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31 – A panto send-up of the enduring classic tale finds mermaid Hairielle trading her voice to the sea witch, Pursula, to save her Galveston Bay home. The interactive musical offers fun for the whole family. Tickets start at $25. 7pm.
- Kid Flicks at Museum of Fine Arts Houston | Thursday, December 30 – Presented by the New York International Children’s Film Festival, this series of short films are curated to charm all ages and introduce young viewers to the big screen experience. Free, but registration required. 11:30am.
- Rockin’ New Year’s Noon at Children’s Museum of Houston | New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31 – Bring the kiddos out to the Rockin’ New Year’s Noon, a family-friendly end-of-year bash that rings in the New Year at the stroke of noon with a parade and shimmering ball drop at the Children’s Museum of Houston. Included with general admission; $12 for ages 1 and up, free for ages under 1. 10am to 12:30pm.
- Noon Year’s Eve Pajama Party at La Centerra in Katy | New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31 | FREE – Bring the kiddos and ring in the ‘Noon Year’ with a Pajama Dance Party at Heritage Square in La Centerra. There will be a kid-friendly DJ, a bubble show with Bubble Party Texas, a balloon artist, and a noon balloon drop celebration to celebrate the New Year. 10:30am to 12:00pm.
- Noon Year’s Eve at CityCentre | New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31 | FREE – Welcome in the new year at a family-friendly Noon Year’s Eve celebration where the kiddos can dance to DJ music, enjoy face painting, cap the noon hour off with bubbles, and more. 11am to 1pm.
