  • Peter Pan at the Hobby Center | Tuesday, October 1 through Sunday, October 6 – Broadway at the Hobby Center presents the Tony Award-winning Broadway classic, Peter Pan, thrilling audiences of all ages in a newly-imagined musical production. Tickets start at $40. Tuesday to Thursday 7:30pm; Friday 8pm; Saturday 2pm and 8pm; Sunday 1:30pm and 7:00pm.
  • Homeschool Day at Kemah Boardwalk | Thursday, October 3 – Homeschooled students and their families are invited out to the Boardwalk for a day of fun and educational thrills, with discounted rates, a Boardwalk scavenger hunt, live DJ entertainment, kids’ crafts and activities, and more. For all-day ride pass discounts, mention “Home School Day” at the ticket booth. Noon to 4pm.
  • Pumpkin Lights at Lagoonfest Texas | Thursday, October 3 through Sunday, October 27 – Lagoonfest Texas is transforming its crystal clear 12 acres into a mystical wonderland this Halloween season. Pumpkin Lights promises to enchant visitors of all ages, offering a walking trail with spooky photo ops from oversized illuminated jack-o’-lanterns to beloved characters from classic Halloween films, specialty snacks and drinks, and family-friendly fun. Tickets run $10 to $30. Thursdays through Sundays 6pm to 10pm.
  • Children’s Bingo at Levy Park | Thursdays, October 3 through Halloween, October 31 | FREE Little learners can practice their letters and numbers (while older kids can practice the art of humbly competing) as they earn prizes at this free, family-friendly Bingo session. Levy Park provides the Bingo cards, markers, and prizes. The fun is ideal for kids age 4 to 12. 4:30pm.
  • Disney Junior Live On Tour at Smart Financial Centre | Friday, October 4 Mickey and Co. bring the Let’s Play Live tour to Houston, with all your little ones’ favorite characters taking the stage, including Spiderman, Ariel, and SuperKitties Bitsy. This magical show is geared to preschoolers and families. Tickets start at $55. 6pm.
  • Hocus Pocus Pops at Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion | Thursday, October 17 | FREE – The Houston Symphony brings its free annual spooktacular, Hocus Pocus Pops, to The Woodlands, inviting little ghouls to trick-or-treat and monster mash to spooky symphony songs. Gates 6:30pm. Showtime 7:30pm.  
  • ArBOOretum at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Saturday, October 19 The Arboretum’s biggest, spookiest family event of the year invites kids of all ages to enjoy some Halloween fun in nature. Get on those costumes and enjoy fun fall activities including live animals, pumpkin decorating, carnival swings and train rides, and the Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail. $20 for ages 3 and up; free for members. 10am to 4pm.
  • 2024 KBR Kids Day & Tony Marron Park Send-Off in the East End | Saturday, October 19 | FREE Enjoy a day of fun fllled with hands-on nature activities, a birds of prey show, music, performances, face painting, and more. The celebration also marks a temporary farewell to Tony Marron Park before Buffalo Bayou Partnerships begins the park’s renovation and expansion later this year. 11am to 3pm.
  • Spooky Train Rides at Zube Park | Saturday, October 19 through Sunday, October 20 | FREE Amateur conductors can get in the locomotive action at Zube Park as Houston Area Live Steamers offer free Spooky Train Rides to the public. All ages are welcome to ride and no reservations needed, Just get in line and enjoy the 12-15 minute train ride. Saturday 9am to 1pm. Sunday 1pm to 4pm.  
  • Gold Over America Tour: Simone Biles at Toyota Center | Saturday, October 19 Budding Olympians can get a close-up look at the exhilarating sport of gymnastics at this powerful showcase from Simone Biles, Shilese Jones, Mlanie Johanna de Jesus dos Santos, Fred Richard,  and more. Tickets start at $75. 7:30pm.
  • Coco Live-to-Film Concert at Jones Hall | Saturday, October 19 through Sunday, October 20   Enjoy smash Disney / Pixar hit Coco on the big screen as the Houston Symphony plays its hauntingly vibrant score live in concert. Tickets start at $55. Saturday 7:30pm. Sunday 1pm.
  • Halloween Happy House at Children’s Museum Houston | Thursday, October 24 | FREE  Families can let the ghoul times roll at this free Halloween party at the museum, featuring monstrous characters, costumes, and “hauntingly hip tunes” from wicked DJs. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Wings Over Houston at Ellington Airport | Saturday, October 26 through Sunday, October 27 – The US Navy Blue Angels will be headlining the 40th annual Wings Over Houston airshow, showcasing vintage World War II aircraft alongside the thrills of modern aviation and featuring some of the best military and civilian pilots in the world. Attendees can watch in awe, access displays, enjoy meet-and-greets, and more. General admission tickets are $50 (ages 15 and up), with advance discounts, family packages, and child tickets (ages 6-14) available. Gates are open 8am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday with flying performances from 10:30 to 4:00 pm.
