- Houston Tech Fest 2016 at NRG | FREE – Head to NRG to check out the latest hardware and software, hear from professionals in the internet and technology industry and more during the tenth annual Tech Fest. 9am to 7pm.
- Fall Fine Arts Show in The Woodlands | FREE – Browse around and check out various types of art while enjoying live music and artist demos during this show at Market Street 10am to 9pm.
- The Woodlands Wildflower Festival at Town Green Park | FREE – Enjoy environmental exhibits, community booths, and nature-related items at The Woodlands Wildflower Festival. Experience giant inflatable rides, petting zoo, face painting, balloon art, and live music as well. 10am to 2pm.
- Market At Marquis Downtown Lofts | FREE – Shop from different local retail vendors for vintage and locally made products at the Market at Marquis in Downtown. 11am to 4pm.
- Oktoberfest Houston at Buffalo Bayou Park – Raise a glass during this beer fest in the heart of Houston. Oktoberfest Houston offers giant games, food vendors, live music, and an Olympiad competition along with a long list of domestic craft beers and imported German brews. Tickets start at $25, not including ticket fees. 12:30pm to 6:30pm.
- Karbach Brews Cruise for MS at Kirby Ice House – Join Karbach’s Cycling Team for the Brews Cruise around bars in Houston and get a chance to win Astros tickets while donating to the MS Society. Attendees will bike from Kirby Ice House to McGonigel’s Mucky Duck and then finish the ride at Axelrad. There is a recommended donation of $5. 2pm to 6pm.
- Ready Houston Preparedness Kit Chef’s Challenge at Market Square Park | FREE – Watch as Houston area chefs compete to make delicious creations out of foods that are commonly found in survival preparedness kits during a disaster. 3pm.

- Waugh Bat Colony Boat Tours – Watch 250,000 Mexican free-tailed bats emerge from the Waugh Bridge at dusk while sitting comfortably on a boat during this tour offered by the Buffalo Bayou Partnership. $30. 6:45pm to 8:15pm
- ROCO on the ROCCs at River Oaks Country Club – Celebrate ROCO’s opening weekend by enjoying dinner with the musicians at ROCC. Tickets start at $500, not including ticket fees. 7:15pm.
- Alabama Shakes in Concert at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Grammy-winning rock band Alabama Shakes is heading to The Woodlands for a concert. Corrine Bailey Rae will open. Tickets start at $30.50, not including ticket fees. 7:30pm.
- Houston Dynamo vs. Portland Timbers at BBVA Compass Stadium – Cheer on the Dynamo as they play Portland in a home game at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets start at $24, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7:45pm.
- Same Time, Next Year at Playhouse 1960 – Starring Amanda L. Baird and Brian Heaton, this play follows two married individuals who rendezvous every year. $18; limited discounted $9 tickets available. 8pm.
- Steppin’ Out Live with Ben Vereen at The Grand – Experience the vocals of Broadway star Ben Vereen during this concert at Galveston’s The Grand. Tickets start at $30, not including ticket fees. 8pm.
- Star Wars The Force Awakens Screening at Discovery Green | FREE – Catch a free screening of the latest Star Wars movie under the stars Downtown on the lawn at Discovery Green. 8pm.

- Monarch Madness Butterfly Festival at Brazos Bend State Park | FREE – The Monarch Madness Butterfly Festival is about endangered Monarch butterflies, put on by kids, for kids, and for adults too. Enjoy activities, booths, speakers, games, and spend the day outside learning about butterfly conservation at Brazos Bend State Park. 10am to 4pm.
- Chef Led Market Tour on Airline Drive – Join Triniti chefs Ryan Hildebrand and Pat Sommers for a tour of some of the best eats at markets along Airline Drive. $185. 11am.
- The Woodlands BBQ Festival at Town Green Park – Get your fill of fall-off-the-bone meat smoked by Texas pitmasters during this BBQ festival in The Woodlands. Guests will enjoy live tunes, beer, and lots of finger lickin’ barbecue. Tickets start at $60, not including ticket fees. 1pm to 5pm.
- Made in Texas at The Music Box Theatre – Enjoy the music of artists like Willie Nelson, Janis Joplin, George Strait and more during this musical show celebrating iconic artists from Texas. $27; limited discounted $13.50 tickets available. 2pm.
- Lessons From Scotland at Anvil Bar & Refuge – The team at Anvil, led by Jessey Qi and Terry Williams, will host Lessons from Scotland, featuring spirits from their favorite distilleries.
