- Hands-on-Houston Workshop at HCCC | FREE – Guests of all ages can learn how to make bracelets and necklaces from copper wire during this workshop led by the Houston Metal Arts Guild. Drop in during the event time and spend about 20 minutes making your jewelry. 11am to 3pm.

- 6th Annual Big Dipper Dash 5K Awareness Run/Walk at Stude Park – Dash to the finish line of the 5k to raise awareness and funds for United Against Human Trafficking. Stick around after the run for a post-race party. 5pm.

- Labor Day Cookout at Central Market – Learn how to make dishes like caramelized peach upside-down cake, ribboned zucchini salad and more during this cooking class at Central Market. 6:30pm to 9pm.
- University of Houston Cougars vs. Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles at TDECU Stadium – The Cougars host the the boys from Cookeville for a gridiron match. Tickets start at $20, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale market. 7pm.
- Mötley Crüe in Concert at Toyota Center – Catch a live concert from rock band Mötley Crüe during The Final Tour at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $49.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale site. 7pm.
- Disney’s Princess and the Frog Movie Screening at Discovery Green | FREE – Catch a free flick in the shadow of Houston’s skyline during Discovery Green’s Screen on the Green series. This week guests will enjoy a showing of Disney’s animated filmThe Princess and the Frog (G). Arrive one hour early for contests and activities. 8:15pm.

- Bayou Bikers Monthly Bike Ride at Market Square Park | FREE – Join Bayou Bikers for a 25 to 40 mile ride along the bayous. Meet at Market Square Park. 8am to noon.
- Houston Texans Kickoff Party at Kemah Boardwalk | FREE to Attend – Kickoff the Texans season with a party on the Kemah Boardwalk. Guests of all ages will enjoy live music, autograph signings, a performance from the Houston Texans Cheerleaders and an appearance from TORO. 1pm to 3pm.
- Brews, Blues and BBQ at Karbach Brewing Co. | No Cover – Sip on brews from Karbach while enjoying live music and grub from Buttz, Shaved Ice and Stab It food trucks. Noon to 9pm.
- Labor Day Luau at Howl at the Moon – Celebrate Labor Day weekend with a luau at Howl at the Moon. Come wearing a Hawaiian shirt or grass skirt and you’ll get in for free. $7. 3pm to 2am.
- Magnolia City Mystery Show at Prohibition Supperclub & Bar – Take a step back in time to a 1926 mystery scene at Prohibition Supperclub & Bar. The Moonlight Dolls will perform as the cast and audience mingle to look for clues and determine “who done it”. $35; $60 VIP; $60 to be a character in the show. 5pm to 7pm or 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

- From Mayerling to Sarajevo Screening at MFAH – Watch a showing of From Mayerling to Sarajevo – a historically inspired drama that explores the events leading up to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. This film coincides with the Habsburg Splendor exhibition on view at the MFAH. $9; $7 for members and seniors. 1pm
- Labor Day Bravado BBQ at Royal Oak – Royal Oak is opening early for Labor Day and welcoming James Nelson and the guys from Bravado Spice into the kitchen to cook up Texas style brisket, spare ribs, garlic sausage and all the fixin’s. 2pm.
