Explore outer space without leaving Houston at ROCO’s presentation of Space: The Final Playground at the Church of St. John the Divine on Saturday, November 19, 2016.

Don’t miss the excitement, passion, and sheer joy of exploration in this Texas premiere of the latest River Oaks Chamber Orchestra commissioned work by composer Michael Gilbertson.

Cosmos, a piece for wind quintet and orchestra in which each movement is inspired by an element of the cosmos features soloists from WindSync — a theatrical, Houston based wind quintet with David Danzmayr conducting and Scott St. John returning as concertmaster for the program.

Also, featured during the evening will be Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 6, Czech composer Vilém Tauský’s Coventry, and Elegía Andina by Gabriela Lena Frank.
