Around Houston and beyond, brewery taps are again flowing with beer and the beginning of fall brings back the annual tradition of Oktoberfest to many beloved taprooms in the city.

This season, you can expect a ton of festive competitions, best dressed contests, delicious German menus, special brew releases, and much more.

Here are some of the best places this season to raise a glass and “Zicke, Zacke, Zicke, Zacke, Hoi, Hoi, Hoi!”

2021 Oktoberfest Events & Celebrations in Houston

Weekend of Friday, September 24, 2021

  • Karbachtoberfest at Karbach Brewing Co. | Friday, September 24 to Sunday, September 26 | No Cover – The Spring Branch brewery launches into the first of its three-week Oktoberfest celebration, with flowing brews, live music, and events like Saturday Stein Hoisting Competitions and Sunday Wiener Dog Races. Hours vary.
  • Oktoberfest at Urban South HTX Brewery | Saturday, September 25 | No Cover – The flavorful minds behind Urban South host an Oktoberfest celebration that brings together brew lovers for fest fun like mustard-eating and stein holding contests, food from Divine Dogs and Cortlandt BBQ, limited glassware and more. Noon to 10pm.
  • 2021 Oktoberfest at B-52 Brewing in Conroe | Saturday, September 25 | No Cover – Step into the heavily wooded brewery in Conroe for a full day of Oktoberfest revelry, complete with food trucks, a cornhole tournament, stein hoisting and best dressed competitions, plus the long-anticipated release of Dopplebock and the brewery’s small batch Oaked Festbier. General admission is free, though packages that include glassware and drink tickets are $30. Noon to 10pm.
  • Rocktoberfest at Holler Brewing Co. | Saturday, September 25 | No Cover – The annual celebration in Sawyer Yards brings live music and brew fresh from the tanks to your glass. Blues rock band Byrd Law and singer-songwriter duo John Toland and Katey Bell provide the tunes. 3pm to 7pm.

Weekend of Friday, October 1, 2021

  • ROAD TRIP: 40th Annual Fredericksburg Oktoberfest at Marktplatz von Fredericksburg | Friday, October 1 to Sunday, October 3 – The historic Central Texas town hosts three days of Oktoberfest revelry, including stein holding and waltz contests, the Rotary Kraut Run 5K & 8K, yodeling competitions, and much more. Tickets are $10; $1 for ages 7 to 12; free for ages 6 and under. Hours vary.
  • Oktoberfest 2021 at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | Friday, October 1 to Sunday, October 3 | No Cover – Spend the weekend celebrating Oktoberfest at Saint Arnold Beer Garden & Restaurant with live music from Valina Polka with Das Ist Lustig, a German-themed food menu, commemorative mugs and alpine hats, contests, prizes, and plenty of beer. Hours vary.
  • Karbachtoberfest at Karbach Brewing Co. | Friday, October 1 to Sunday, October 3 | No Cover – The Oktoberfest fun continues in Spring Branch with flowing brews, live music, and events like Saturday Stein Hoisting Competitions and Sunday Wiener Dog Races. Hours vary.
  • Music to My Beers Fest 2021 at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, October 2 | FREE – The Oktoberfest edition of this Pearland brew festival brings live music together with tasty suds from many of Houston’s craft breweries, plus food trucks and a craft market where you can pick up arts and gifts ahead of the holiday season. 2pm to 9pm.
  • Oktoberfest 2021 at Saloon Door Brewing in Webster | Saturday, October 2 | No Cover – Dig into a feast of brats, pretzels and hot cheese at this Oktoberfest celebration in Webster, that also features special tap releases, Crush City BBQ, a best dressed contest, and more. 2pm to 10pm.
  • Oktoberfest at Henderson Heights Pub | Saturday, October 2 – Enjoy a little taste of the German celebration, Oktoberfest, in the Heights. There will be live music, a stein hoisting contest and a Das Boot beer drinking contest. $5 general admission fee will be donated to Hurricane Ida relief. 3pm to 11pm.

Weekend of Friday, October 8, 2021

  • Karbachtoberfest at Karbach Brewing Co. | Friday, October 8 to Sunday, October 10 | No Cover – The Spring Branch brewery wraps up their final weekend of Oktoberfest fun, with flowing brews, live music, and events like Saturday Stein Hoisting Competitions and Sunday Wiener Dog Races. Hours vary.
  • Oktoberfest at Eureka Heights Brewing Co. | Saturday, October 9 | No Cover – Swing through the Heights brewery for an afternoon of Oktoberfest fun, including sauerkraut, pretzels, and brats from Kortex BBQ, live music from Jodie Mikula Orchestra, and tasty Eureka Heights brews that you can drink from Das Boots. 3pm to 7pm.

Weekend of Friday, October 15, 2021

  • Oktoberfest at Galveston Island Brewing | Saturday, October 16 | No Cover – Toast to the island life at the currently-expanding Galveston Island Brewing, just a stone’s throw from the beach. They’ll have their newest Oktoberfest release, fresh pretzels, and other family-friendly fun on the spacious patio. Noon to 8pm.
  • Oktoberfest & Cornhole Tournament at Southern Star Brewing in Conroe | Saturday, October 16 | No Cover – In Conroe, the Bombshell Blonde brewery kicks off a family-friendly Oktoberfest celebration, with special brews, food from the Saur Kraut, music by the Homebrewed Brass Ensemble, games and more. Plus, chip in to register a team for the 4-game round robin cornhole tournament. Noon to 10pm.

Weekend of Friday, October 22, 2021

  • Oktoberfest Houston at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou | Friday, October 22 & Saturday, October 23 The 9th annual Oktoberfest Houston returns to Buffalo Bayou, showcasing German and Texas culture in one fun-filled event. Guests can expect steins of beer, polka music, German eats from brats to kraut, and the Oktoberfest Olympiad Games. General admission tickets are $25 and $100 VIP, each day. Friday 5pm to 10pm; Saturday 1pm to 10pm.
  • 39th Annual Galveston Oktoberfest at First Lutheran Church of Galveston | Friday, October 22 & Saturday, October 23 | No Cover – Back again in 2021, the Galveston Island Oktoberfest offers up special beer and wine tasting events, festive dancing, live music, children’s rides, arts and crafts, games, and delicious German food and drink. Friday 5pm to 10pm; Saturday 11am to 10pm.
