Take to the ice and take in some Monet’s great works of art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston hosts Monet on Ice on Saturday, January 17 and Sunday, January 18, 2015.

For just two days, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston introduces an ice skating rink, so visitors to the Monet and the Seine: Impressions of a River can take a spin on the ice before viewing Monet’s paintings of a frozen river and winter scenes.

There will also be additional family-friendly activities like sketching in the galleries and a Monet-inspired photo op from 1pm to 4pm.

At 800 square feet, the temporary rink will be smaller than what Houstonians are used to at Discovery Green and the Galleria and accommodate 25 skaters at one time. It’s expected to be a popular attraction, so those who have their heart set on skating within the MFAH should buy their tickets online or arrive with plenty of time in the day.

Skates are provided at the rink and are included in the admission price. Skaters under 10 must be accompanied by guardians 16 years or older.
