- 5th Annual Haunted House at the National Museum of Funeral History | Through Wednesday, November 2 – Visit the Haunted House at the National Museum of Funeral History all month long to be “scared to death.” The house is rated PG-13 and is recommended for children 12 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. $5; $3 for kids 11 and under. Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm; Saturday 10am to 5pm; Sunday noon to 5pm.
- Ghost Tours of the 1859 Ashton Villa in Galveston | Thursday, October 27 through Halloween Day, Monday, October 31 – Take a tour through the historic Ashton Villa and learn about the home’s history its resident Miss Bettie Brown, who may have never left. $30. Times vary.
- Halloween Monster Mayhem at the Children’s Museum of Houston | Daily Through Halloween Day, Monday, October 31 – Monsters take over the Children’s Museum through Halloween, letting kids go trick-or-treating, experiment with monstrous matters, or participate in spirit-lifting activities. Included with museum admission.
- Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo | Select Days Through Halloween Day, Monday, October 31 – During Zoo Boo, kids get to paint pumpkins, explore pumpkin patches, color on the Monster Mural, get a temporary tat at the Tatzoo Parlor, and dance at the Monster Mashquerade. Kids and adults are encouraged to wear costumes (adults are not permitted to wear masks or cover their faces). All ages, included with museum admission.

- Scream on the Green & Little Shop of Horrors Movie Screening at Discovery Green | FREE – Head to Discovery Green for a screening of Little Shop of Horrors, beats from DJ Astra and a costume contest. Prizes for the best costume will be awarded in several categories including different age groups as well as best dog costume. 6pm to 10pm. Movie starts at 7:30pm.
- Evenings on the Esplanade: Voodoo Halloween on the Bayou | FREE – This spooky Halloween event welcomes all ages to the award-winning Navigation Esplanade in the East End. It will feature artisan vendors, pumpkin decorating, live music, and even the roasting of a whole pig. 6pm to 10pm.

- Monster Mash Kids K at Karbach Brewing Co. – Get dressed in your Halloween costume for the kids component of the Monster Mash Run 5k/10k at Karbach Brewing Co. Kids K registration is $15. 7:30am.
- Tricks, Treats & Targets at Topgolf Webster | FREE – Ages 12 and under are welcome at a Saturday morning party in the KidZone with a costume contest, arts & crafts activities, trick or treating, and more. 9am to 11am.
- The Company OnStage presents Sleepy Hollow at McPhail Hall – Get into the spirit of Halloween with a spooky, family-friendly theatrical rendition of Washington Irving’s Sleepy Hollow, playing at McPhail Hall. $10; limited discounted $5 tickets available. 11am and 1:30pm.
- Houston Halloween Festival at 8th Wonder Brewery | FREE – Play games, enjoy food truck bites, participate in a zombie walk for charity and jam live music at a family-friendly Halloween festival. The party continues with more mature content for adults that stick around. $10; $100 VIP; free for kids 10 and under. 1pm to 8pm.
- Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra presents Hauntcert at Sugar Land Town Square | FREE – Enjoy Halloween games followed by a concert of spooky tunes. There will be an audience costume parade during intermission. 1:15pm.
- Trick or Treat at Pearland Town Center’s Our Street | FREE – Take the kids for trick or treating, a costume contest for ages 12 and under, and an outdoor screening of Hotel Transylvania 2. 5pm to 9pm.
- Fall Festival at the Childrens Lighthouse in Cinco Ranch | FREE to Attend – Families can go trunk or treating, explore haunted houses, play games, get a pie in the face and more. Individual activities require tickets, which can be purchased at the door. 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

- Ghostly Gardens at Moody Gardens in Galveston | FREE – Galveston’s Moody Gardens will host trick-or-treating, crafts, face painting and more at this spooky family-friendly event. 10am to 6pm.
- Halloween Town at Sugar Land Town Center | FREE to Attend – Come dressed in your Halloween costume and enjoy the various games and activities planned for the evening at Halloween Town at Sugar Land Town Center. 4pm to 8pm.
Halloween Day, October 31, 2016
- Jack Skellington Photo Op at The Wilde Collection in The Heights | FREE to Attend – Fans of the Pumpkin King from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, will want to stop by the gothic, Victorian-inspired oddities and curiosity shop for their last chance to strike a pose in front of the life-size (and very tall) ruler of Halloweentown and his trusty ghost dog sidekick Zero. While the shop is not designed to scare, it does feature many creepy, unusual items and displays, including taxidermy. Parents of sensitive children may opt to skip this one. Noon to 7pm.
- Moe’s Monster Mash Bash at the Children’s Museum of Houston – Join ghoulish DJ dance parties, go trick or treating, experiment with monstrous matters, or participate in spirit-lifting activities. $12 per person ages 1 and up (including adults). 3pm to 8pm.
- Spooktacular at The Woodlands Children’s Museum – Enjoy a non-scary Halloween event filled with child-friendly games, art projects and activities. Included with museum admission. 4pm to 8pm.
- Monster Mash Halloween Spooktacular at Memorial City Mall | FREE – Enjoy free trick or treating, a Beetlejuice DJ, games and more. 5pm to 8pm.
- Halloween Trick or Treat at CityCentre | FREE – Families can go trick or treating around the shopping center, then dance to DJ tunes and relax under the autumn stars in the plaza. 5pm to 8pm.
- Night of the Living Dead Movie Screening at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Catch a free screening of the classic 1968 zombie cult horror film that continues to define the walking dead to this day. Recommended for age 13 and up. 7:30pm.
