  • 58th Annual Original Greek Festival at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church | Thursday to Saturday – The beloved annual celebration returns to Montrose with traditional Greek dancing, music, food, wine, tours of the Orthodox church, a marketplace, and more. $8; free ages 12 and under. Times vary.
  • Drunk Dracula at the Emerald Theatre | Thursday to Saturday – This limited-time-only, 21+ show in Downtown offers a unique spin on the classic horror tale. One actor takes five shots of whiskey, then attempts to tell the story of Count Dracula and his exploits. Performances continue until Saturday, November 5, 2024. $75 and up. 7pm and 9pm.
  • 45th Annual Festival Chicano at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Thursday to Saturday | FREE – One of the oldest, ongoing events of its type in the world returns to the Hermann Park stage, celebrating Chicano music—from Tejano and conjunto, to mariachi and orchestra—with Jay Perez and David Marez on Thursday, Little Joe y La Familia and Los Desperadoz on Friday, and Elida Reyna y Avante and Avizo on Saturday. 7pm nightly.
  • Comedian Ian Fidance at Punch Line Houston | Thursday to Saturday – Brooklyn-based comedian Ian Fidance, who will bring his upbeat, offbeat comedic takes to Downtown’s newest comedy stage for 3 nights. $32.05 and up. Times vary.
  • Oktoberfest Party at St. Arnold Brewing Company | Friday & Saturday | No Cover – The two week celebration of German beer and food concludes with two days of live music by Das Ist Lustig and Valina Polka, a dirndl and lederhosen costume contest, stein hoisting and pretzel eating, and more. 4pm to 9pm both days.
  • InkSlingers Tattoo Show at Bad Astronaut Brewing | Friday & Saturday – The Near Northside brewery hosts live tattooing and body piercings, free giveaways, artist and vendor booths, and more. $10. Times vary.
  • Comedian Cipha Sounds at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – The Hot 97 Morning Show host, stand-up comedian and producer, also known as the host MTV’s Direct Effect and TruTv’s Laff Tracks. $25 and up. Times vary.
  • Comedian Steve Treviño at Cullen Performance Hall | Saturday & Sunday – “America’s favorite husband” comes to Houston to share his signature relatability and comedic eye for the everyday. $37.50 and up. Times vary.
  • Broadway Across America: Peter Pan at the Hobby Center | Daily – This brand new production of the classic musical features a book by celebrated playwright Larissa FastHorse, who wrote The Thanksgiving Play. When Peter Pan and Tinkerbell visit the Darling children one evening, it sets off a magical adventure the whole family will love. Audiences will instantly recognize songs like “I’m Flying” and “I Won’t Grow Up.” $40 and up. Times vary.
  • Catastrophic Theatre presents Spirits to Enforce at the MATCH | Daily – When a group of tele-fundraisers try to raise money for a production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest performed by local superhero team “The Fathom Town Enforcers,” things get strange. Pay-What-You-Can. Times vary.
  • 4th Wall Theatre Co: Swing State at Spring Street Studios | Through Sunday – Making its regional premiere, Swing State explores the life of a widow who lives a quiet life on the prairie, but a call to the authorities ignites a chain of events that shatter the idea of trust. $15 and up.   • Kaleo at Bayou Music Center – Known for their hits “Way Down We Go”, “No Good” and “Skinny”, the Icelandic blues rock outfit returns to H-Town with the Payback Tour. $32.

  • Johnny Marr & James at Bayou Music Center – This doubleheader tour features The Smiths’ Johnny Marr and fellow Mancunians James, headlined by Tim Booth. James is known for their hits “Laid” and “Just Like Fred Astaire”, while Marr’s know for Smiths hits like “Girlfriend in a Coma” and “Armotopia”. $76 and up. 7pm.
  • Blxst at House of Blues – The LA rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer lands in Downtown on his  I’ll Always Come Find You Tour. Joony and Leon Thomas join the show. $36 and up. 7pm.

  • Lawrence in Concert at House of Blues – The NYC based sibling duo, Clyde and Gracie Lawrence, land in Houston on the Family Business Tour. Jukebox the Ghost opens the show. $30. 7pm.

  • A Taste of Switzerland in Houston at Le Jardinier – Acclaimed chefs Olivier Jean and Felipe Botero craft an exquisite, 4-course lunch and dinner that showcases Swiss and French flavors. The restaurant’s location in the MFAH adds to the exclusive ambiance. $95 and up. Times vary.
  • Lorna Shore at House of Blues – The deathcore band from New Jersey, best known for their single “To the Hellfire”, headlines a lineup that includes Whitechapel, Sanguisugabogg, and Kublai Khan TX. $39.95 and up. 6pm.
  • Jada Vineyard Wine Dinner at Ouisie’s Table – The 5-course dinner pairs the River Oaks restaurant’s exquisite dishes with wines from one of California’s most recognized organic wineries. Josh and Jack Messina, the winery’s founding family members, will walk guests through the evening’s selections. $139 per person. 6:30pm.
  • Etran De L’aïr in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The family band from Niger brings their dynamic repertoire of hypnotic solos and Saharan rock melodies, blended with a “desert blues” guitar style. $20. 7pm.
  • Grand Re-Opening at the River Oaks Theatre – After an extensive renovation, the iconic movie theater on West Gray reopens. The first screening is Todd Philips’  Joker: Folie à Deux. starring Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix. $12.93. 7pm. 
  • Comedian Anna Akana at Houston Improv – The comedian, actress and writer, who was forced into a 6-year retirement after a stalking incident, returns and brings her signature humor to Houston. $180 for a table for four. 7:30pm.
  • Still Woozy in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The Californian singer and songwriter brings hist Loveseat tour and his unique psychedelic, genre-bending bedroom-pop sound to the Post Houston stage. $32 and up. 8pm.
  • Turtle Racing: Mean Girls Edition at Little Woodrow’s Midtown | No Cover – The popular gathering spot fan favorite competition takes on a Mean Girls twist. Cheer on Cady, Regina, Gretchen, Karen and the rest of the gang. Donations will be accepted for The Rose to help fight breast cancer. 8pm.
  • Mark Sultan in Concert at Dan Electro’s  – The one man band brings his new show to the north Heights bar, pulling hit after hit from a back catalog of his notorious bands. This 21+ event is a night of punk rock, doo wop, R&B, garage and rock n’ roll sounds. $15 and up. 9pm.

  • Sunset Sip, Spa & Shop at the San Luis Resort – The seaside Galveston resort hosts an evening of express spa treatments, live music, and access to a pop-up trunk show and Zen space. The first five attendees and renewing spa members receive a Kendra Scott rose quartz gift. $25. 4pm to 7pm.
  • Cursed Cauldron Pop-Up Opening at Aero Cocktail Co. | No Cover – The Galleria / River Oaks area cocktail bar is taken over by an immersive experience blending magic and mystery in a realm where witches and cocktails collide. This spooky-themed pop-up lets you explore mysterious mixology in an atmosphere that matches the Halloween spirit. The pop-up will continue through Saturday, November 2, 2024. 4pm to midnight.
  • Performance at Jacolby Satterwhite’s A Metta Prayer at MFAH – Emerging performance artist Christopher Paul presents an immersive, participatory sound and meditative experience titled “Great Was the Ecstasy II” in response to Jacolby Satterwhite’s A Metta Prayer, on display through October 13, 2024. $24. 6:30pm.
  • Orin Swift Wine Dinner at Vine Memorial – The Katy Freeway restaurant hosts one of the country’s finest winemakers for a stunning 6-course dinner paired with selections from the winery. $150. 6:30pm.
  • Houston Dash vs the Chicago Red Stars at Shell Energy Stadium – Cheer on Houston’s National Women’s Soccer League team as they defend their EaDo home pitch against the women of the Windy City. $12 and up. 7pm.
  • Fly Dance Company: I Will Fly: A New Hip-Hop Experience at the Hobby Center – Blending symphonic heritage with the vibrant energy of hip-hop culture, the dance company offers an evening of high energy and incredible choreography, while Houston street-artist Gonzo247 creates a new mural live on stage. $22.50 and up. 7pm.
  • Comedian Luis J. Gomez at The Secret Group – The New York-based comedian, writer, podcaster and producer is the founding member of Legion of Skanks and the co-creator of Skankfest and GAS Digital Network. $20 and up. 7pm and 9pm.
  • Joywave in Concert at Last Concert Cafe – Blending indie rock and pop, electronica, and alternative rock, the band from Rochester performs fan favorites and new tracks from their recent fourth studio album Cleanse. Hunny opens the show. $29. 7:30pm.
  • DaCamera: the Spanish Harlem Orchestra at Wortham Center – The 3-time Grammy Award-winning salsa and Latin jazz band comes to Houston for an unparalleled musical experience, with high energy precision playing and mesmerizing vocals. $51 and up. 8pm.
  • Cash Cash Live Set at Stereo Live – The DJ trio of brothers from New Jersey come to H-Town for a live set at the Richmond Avenue club. Their chart-topping “Take Me Home” features vocals by Bebe Rexha, and their world-renowned electronic sound has been garnering fans and cementing their reputations as dominators of the dance floor. $49.99. 10pm to 2am.

  • First Saturday Arts Market in the Heights | FREE – Now in its 20th year, Houston’s O.G. artist market on 19th Street offers unique items from Houston-area creators. Expect an array of paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry and more. Enjoy wine or a beer and take in some live music while enjoying the vibe. 11am to 6pm.
  • Houston Country, Folk & Red Dirt Festival at Clear Lake Park – Country artists Chase Wright, Frank Ray, Flat River Band, Grace Leer, and more perform live on the main stage at a day-long party. Guests will also enjoy artists and artisans, a farmers market, and a gourmet food and beverage garden, featuring craft beer and wines. The same event will happen at Pearland Town Center next weekend. $7 and up. 11am to 9pm.
  • 5th Annual Läktoberfest at Lake Houston Brewery | No Cover – The lakeside brewery offers stunning views to pair with its day-long Oktoberfest celebration, featuring live music by Midnight River Choir, German brews and foods, contests, games and more. 11am to 10pm.
  • Friends of DePelchin: Tailgate for Tots 2024 Mixer at Drift – A fall event mixer for the young professionals group will feature football watching, great food and drinks, wine pulls, raffles for prizes, a silent auction, and more. Funds will go to support DePelchin’s Children’s Center support kids in need and the families who care for them. $20 and up. Noon to 3pm.
  • Oktoberfest & Grand Opening at Katy Beer Garden No Cover – The new Katy Beer Garden will host its Grand Opening celebration with an all-day Oktoberfest party. Folks can enjoy live Polka music, bands, and DJs, stein hoisting competitions, costume contests, traditional German sausages, Oktoberfest booze, and more. Noon to 2am.
  • Southern Smoke Festival at Discovery Green – More than 70 incredible food and beverage pros from across the country will join the best wine, spirit, and beer producers and outstanding live music at Discovery Green. Proceeds benefit Southern Smoke Foundation, which has distributed more than $11.7 million to food and beverage workers nationwide. $225; $500 VIP. 5pm to 8pm.
  • 6th Annual A Taste of Cy-Fair at Bridgeland Lakeland Village Center  A Taste of Cy-Fair brings together local restaurants and businesses, and volunteers, with all proceeds benefiting Cy-Hope to help kids in the Cy-Fair community. Attendees can enjoy bite-sized creations from top local restaurants, sip handpicked wines and craft beers, jam out to live music and entertainment, shop the artisan market, bid on items from the silent auction, and more. 5pm to 8pm. $40; $15 for ages 11 and under; $80 VIP.
  • Water Lantern Festival at City Place Park – Coinciding with the official opening of immersive art installation As Water Falls by Montreal-based arts collective Irregular, this beautiful evening culminates in the sunset sendoff of thousands of handmade lanterns into the main pond of City Place Park. $28.99 and up. 4:30pm to 8:30pm.
  • Fractured: A Photographic Adventure With 400-Year-Old Glass Opening Reception at Archway Gallery | FREE – Check out the striking photography that artist Larry Garmezy captured through a distorted, uneven plate of glass. Enjoy complimentary valet parking and light bites; artist talk at 6:30pm. 5pm to 8pm.
  • 3rd Annual Oktoberfest in Sugar Land Town Square – Flying Saucer opens more than 50 taps for a Bavarian celebration in Sugar Land, featuring a vintage and crafts market, live music and dance, and traditional German foods with games and contests like the dachshund dash, stein races, bratwurst eating contest and more. $5 in advance, free for ages 11 and under; tasting packages are $25 and up. Prices increase at the gate. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Apollo Chamber Players: Liberty at the Hobby Center – The ensemble opens its season with this reflection on freedom, love and the triumph of the human spirit. Legendary actor and activist George Takei tells the story of his family’s forced internment during World War II. The evening also features the world premiere of a newly adapted commissioned work by John Corigliano, one of America’s most celebrated living composers, and Afghan-born composer Homayoun Sakhi offers a global perspective on the promises and perils of self-government and the eternal quest for liberty. $39.50 and up. 7pm.
  • Malevo at the Grand 1894 Opera House – The Argentinian all-male group elevates Malambo traditions with urban percussion and dance. Elements of flamenco, tango and Irish step dance meet to create a performance that has wowed audiences around the world. $25 and up. 8pm.
  • Society of Indo-American Arts: Kaleidoscope Of Dances Of India at MATCH – Experience the 6 classical dance forms of India: Bharat Natyam, Kathak, Mohiniattam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, and Manipuri, all on the same stage. Narration accompanies the pieces, to give audiences a deeper dive into this art form. $32 and up. 8pm.
  • Vicetone at Noto Houston – The EaDo club welcomes the DJ duo that’s garnered fans across the globe, known for their addictive melodies and meticulous production. $15 and up. 10pm to 2am.

  • House of Horrors at the River Oaks Theatre – In this classic flick, an unsuccessful sculptor saves a madman named “The Creeper” from drowning. Seeing an opportunity for revenge, he tricks the psycho into murdering his critics. $10.16. 3:30pm.
  • International Cup at the Houston Polo Club – Experience a world class polo match, player parade, live music, expert announcing, Champagne divot stomp at halftime tucked behind Memorial Park. The Lymbar is the onsite concession serving delicious Argentine- and Brazilian-inspired menu choices and a premium bar menu. $18 and up. 4pm.
  • Lola Young in Concert at House of Blues – The English singer-songwriter—who counts Joni Mitchell, Prince and Adele among her influences and was nominated for the Brit Award for Rising Star in 2021—comes to Houston for a live show. $27.50 and up. 7pm.
  • Night Traveler in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – Pocket grooves and emotive melodies are the hallmarks of this acoustic trio, known for performing classic soft rock combined with country music and original songs. $20. 7pm.
  • Rival Sons & Clutch in Concert at Bayou Music Center – The Two-Headed Beast Tour pairs up the California and Maryland rock bands for a hard rocking live show in at the edge of Downtown. $55 and up. 7pm.
  • Carin León at Toyota Center – The singer-songwriter and global Mexican music sensation, León became the first Latin artist to perform at the both the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival this year. He lands in Downtown as his Boca Chueca Tour comes to Houston. $99 and up. 8pm.
  • South Seas Cinema at Lei Low | No Cover – Come up to the Heights-area tiki bar and catch a zombie or slasher flick double feature as you sip on a Zombie or other tropical libation. It’s Halloween in Paradise. Free popcorn. 9pm.
