See hundreds of cats strut their stuff at the Houston Cat Club’s 61st Annual Charity Cat Show at the George R. Brown Convention Center on Saturday, January 4 and Sunday, January 5, 2014.

If you love your feline friends, you’ll want to high tail it to the George R. Brown Convention Center for this annual cat competition with 300 pedigreed cats and kittens competing for show honors. Cats will be judged on beauty and personality by a panel of eight judges from the Cat Fanciers’ Association.

All competing cats can also compete for timed runs through the Feline Agility course, where they will run through tunnels and jump through hoops.

Ambassador Cats

Guests can also meet two celebrity cats who are the official ambassadors of the show. Cruiser, a 20-pound maine coon cat and Zoe, an elegant colorpoint shorthair, will both be on hand along with other cats to greeted by visitors.

Cat in the Stacks Book Signing

Guests can also meet author Dean “Miranda” James, author of the “Cat in the Stacks” mystery book series, including extended New York Times bestsellers Murder Past Due, Classified as Murder and File M for Murder.

Ask The Vet Desk

At this popular attraction, guests can ask for advice and insight from Houston veterinarians. On Saturday, meet with Dr. Alex Betzen from Westbury Animal Hospital from 1pm to 5pm. On Sunday,  Dr. Bill Folger from Memorial Cat Hospital will be answering questions from noon until 2pm.

Meow Mall

The Meow Mall will feature toys, treats, beds, climbing posts, premium cat foods, combs, brushes, shampoos and other feline products available for purchase. Visitors will also find clothing and accessories for people and cats, along with cat-themed home goods.

The all-volunteer Houston Cat Club raises money through events like the Houston Cat Show 2014 to support local animal organizations and feline medical research.
