Celebrate the gourd-geous side of life this fall season with pumpkins galore, and much more, at Harvest Fest at Harvest Green on Saturday, November 5, 2016.

Located in Richmond, and known as Houston’s first farm-centric community, Harvest Green is kicking the season into high gear with a fall festival featuring pumpkin carving, tasty food trucks, a farmers market, and tours of the on-site Village Farm.

Sure to be a highlight of the event, New York City-based Maniac Pumpkin Carvers will perform live pumpkin carvings. Their recreations of famous paintings and fantastical 3-D masterpieces are sure to make jaws drop.

Inspired visitors can embellish their own gourds at the Harvest Fest pumpkin-decorating station and even win a pumpkin carved by Maniac Pumpkins by purchasing $5 raffle tickets during the event.

The event is free and open to the public, although some activities may require a small fee.

About Harvest Green

Houston’s first farm-centric development, Harvest Green offers residents a chance to grow their own food in optional backyard gardens or in the community’s Village Farm. Also planned is a farm share program that will allow members to buy weekly supplies of fresh produce harvested from a 300-acre farm adjacent to Harvest Green.

The 1,300-acre development also features abundant open space, lakes, and a planned recreation center featuring a pool, fitness center, and splash pad. Students are zoned to Fort Bend ISD schools, including two located in the community and an elementary school with plans to open in 2017.
