- Houston Symphony presents Get Up & Dance at Jones Hall | Saturday, February 3 – The Downtown theater turns into a giant dance floor as the Houston Symphony invites folks to “shake, wiggle, and twirl” while journeying through dance rhythms from around the world. $25 and up. 10am and 11:30am.
- Harlem Globetrotters at NRG Arena | Saturday, February 3 – The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are making their slam-dunk return to Houston, rocking an extravaganza of dribbling, spinning, and dunking as they take on their rivals, the Washington Generals. $30 and up. 2pm and 7pm.
- Brick Fest Live at NRG Center | Saturday, February 3 & Sunday, February 4 – LEGO fans will love Brick Fest Live, with over a million ready-to-play bricks on display, awesome life-size LEGO models, hands-on attractions, shopping and merch, and the chance to join the build of a Guinness World Record setting mosaic. $19.99 and up; free for ages 2 and under. - The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green | Opening Friday, February 9 – Rolling through Sunday, March 31, Discovery Green’s Kinder Lake transforms into a super cool outdoor roller rink. Lace up and roller skate under the Houston skyline, with features including a rubber subfloor for increased comfort and bright colors perfect for family photos. $12, including skate rental. - Lunar New Year 2024: Celebrating the Year of the Dragon at Asia Society Texas Center | Saturday, February 10 | FREE – Representing power, nobility and success, the Year of the Dragon is upon us and Asia Society Texas will be welcoming it with a Lunar New Year celebration featuring dragon performances and lion dancers, art and craft activities, a Dragon Quest, and food inspired by traditions across Asia. Free to attend and enjoy the festival; performances by Huaxing Arts Group are $10. 10am to 4pm.
- Monster Jam at NRG Stadium | Saturday, February 10 – Your favorite monster trucks are going full-throttle as the 12,000-pound beasts tear up the dirt in a test of speed and skill. $20 and up. 6pm.
- Lunar New Year at Eastern Glades in Memorial Park | Sunday, February 11 | FREE – Celebrating the Lunar New Year and 2024 being the Year of the Dragon, Memorial Park will host a family-friendly celebration featuring live dance and martial arts performances from the Unity Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe in the Clay Family Eastern Glades. 4pm to 7pm.
- Mardi Gras Galveston’s Family Gras! in Downtown Galveston | Sunday, February 11 | FREE – While the 113th celebration of Mardi Gras Galveston takes over the Strand from February 2–13, families are invited to join this official “Family Gras!” party for a day of free kid-friendly activities. Enjoy the Shriners Hospitals for Children & Sunshine Kids Parade with festive floats, clowns and mini cars starting at noon, followed by the pet-friendly Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade at 1:30pm, and the Mardi Gras! Firefighters Children’s Parade at 3pm. 11am to 6pm.
- World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest at NRG Park | Thursday, February 22 to Saturday, February 24 – Ahead of the highly anticipated Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is another hot rodeo season event, the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest. While pitmaster tents are private, all are welcome to enjoy bbq brisket plates, live concerts, and the family-friendly carnival featuring rides, treats, and fun. $25; $10 for ages 3 to 12; free for ages 2 and under. Includes admission and a complimentary sliced brisket plate with chips and beans. Times vary.
- Rodeo Roundup at Houston City Hall | Friday, February 23 | FREE – Kicking off Go Texan Day, Houstonians are invited to this free, family-friendly event in downtown’s Hermann Square. The event will feature a Go Texan Day proclamation, followed by free chopped barbecue sandwiches, live music, photo ops with a Texas Longhorn steer and a visit with Rodeo volunteers. Boots, hats, and Western attire are encouraged. 11am to 1pm.
- Manual Cinema presents Leonardo! at Hobby Center | Friday, February 23 & Saturday, February 24 – Inspired by the books Leonardo, The Terrible Monster and Sam, The Most Scaredy-Cat Kid in the Whole World by Mo Willems, Manual Cinema brings this kid-friendly puppet show to Zilkha Hall. The story of Leonardo comes alive via furry monster puppets and illustrated paper puppets, two-dimensional props, book pages, and song. Runtime is 45 minutes. $19 and up. Friday 7pm; Saturday 2pm and 5pm (late performances is a softer, sensory-friendly production).
- Arboretum Archeology Day at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Saturday, February 24 | FREE – All ages are welcome to take a glimpse into the past as the Houston Arboretum and the Houston Archeology Society present Arboretum Archeology Day. Visitors can see prehistoric and historic artifacts, examine bones and skulls from native animals, and put their archeology skills to the test. Children ages 5 and up are welcome to participate in a Soil Screening Lab for a $5 donation per person. 10am to noon.
- Rodeo Parade in Downtown | Saturday, February 24 | FREE – The annual Rodeo Parade transforms the streets of Downtown into a Western fiesta to celebrate Rodeo season, featuring decorative floats, thousands of folks on horseback, and live marching bands. The parade route begins at Bagby and Walker Streets before traveling from Travis to Bell Street, and from Bell Street to Louisiana Street, then turns on Lamar Street and ends at Lamar and Bagby. 10am to 2pm.
- 2024 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at NRG Park | February 27 | Ongoing – Rodeo season is back, stacked with 20 days of family-friendly fun and the world’s largest livestock show and rodeo. Visit for action-packed rodeo events from barrel racing and bull riding to the adorable mutton bustin’, plus live animal exhibits, a petting zoo and pony rides, nightly concerts from top stars, and a colossal festival filled carnival rides and games, unique shopping experiences, and all kinds of festival treats, from classics like Texas bbq, deep fried Oreos, and funnel cakes to wacky treats like donut burgers and caramel apples crusted with Flaming Hot Cheetos. The Rodeo is ongoing through Sunday, March 17. Grounds tickets are $20; $10 for ages 3 to 12; free for ages 2 and under; includes access to the carnival and livestock show, rides and other attractions are an additional fee. Tickets for the rodeo and concert start at $25, and includes access to the grounds. Times vary.
- Shadow Puppet Theatre presents Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? at the Woodlands Children’s Museum | Thursday, February 29 – Shadow Puppet Theatre presents the Dr. Seuss classic Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?. The imaginative storytime encourages youngin’s to create sounds like the “buzz buzz” of a bee and the “pip” of a goldfish kiss. $9 for ages 1 and up. 11am.
