Celebrate Independence Day with a dazzling display of fireworks, live music, and more at CITGO Freedom Over Texas in Eleanor Tinsley Park on Thursday, July 4, 2019.

This Independence Day, CITGO Freedom Over Texas celebrates more than three decades of Fourth festivities and fireworks along Buffalo Bayou with a spectacular lineup of musical guests and activities for the whole family.

Throughout the evening, festival-goers will get a chance to dance the night away to a wide variety of bands and musicians, chow down on meals from dozens of food trucks on site, and enjoy a grand display of fireworks and pyrotechnics to cap off CITGO Freedom Over Texas.

Special for this year’s celebration, NASA Johnson Space Center has partnered with CITGO Freedom Over Texas for a Space City Experience to mark the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. Here, attendees can get an up-close look at the robotics, astronauts, and missions that NASA utilizes to accomplish their amazing endeavors.

Tunes Over Texas

Before the fireworks get popping, CITGO Freedom Over Texas welcomes a diverse range of musical artists gracing the stage beneath the Downtown Houston skyline.

Whether you’re jamming out to the hard rock of 35 to Nowhere, listening to the R&B stylings of Grammy-nominated Mary Griffin, or cutting a rug to the cajun sounds of Brian Jack and the Zydeco Gamblers, CITGO Freedom Over Texas attendees will have plenty of genres to dive into, with additional music by gospel artist DeAndre Nico and the youthful Norteño group, Los Luzeros de Rioverde.

As the sun starts to set ahead of the main event, former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler takes the stage to perform her hit country singles, followed by headliner and chart-topping country artist, Jake Owen.

Food for the Fourth

There’s no shortage of food options for the hungry, with more than two dozen food trucks and vendors available along Allen Parkway.

Those looking to satisfy their munchies will find a delicacy dilemma with burgers, tacos, fusion foods, and a variety of sweets on hand during CITGO Freedom Over Texas.
