“Consider yourself at home” at Theatre Under The Stars’ production of Oliver! at The Hobby Center through Sunday, April 17, 2016.
TUTS production of Oliver! has already been delighting Houstonians of all ages for the last week. The charming show concludes its run on Sunday, April 17, 2016.
TUTS artistic director Bruce Lumpkin is particularly excited about this production, as Oliver! is the very show that inspired him to pursue a career in musical theater. Keep an eye out for Houston’s brightest young talent – many from the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre – in key roles throughout the young cast.
Based on Dickens’ classic tale Oliver Twist, the musical Oliver! follows a young orphan navigating the questionable characters and perils of the soot-covered streets of Victorian London. The TUTS production will feature a gritty, street-wise take on the beloved musical, while also focusing in on the themes of the importance of family, friendship and integrity.
You’ll recognize songs like “Consider Yourself”, “I’d Do Anything”, “Where is Love” and “Food, Glorious Food.”
