  • Zoo Boo at Houston Zoo | Daily through Halloween, Monday, October 31 – Bring the little ghouls and goblins to the Houston Zoo for some age-appropriate Halloween fun. Visit the Giant Pumpkin, ride a spooktacular Scary-Go-Round, find photo ops throughout the Zoo, walk the Lantern Tunnel between the lion and tiger exhibits, and more. Costumes are strongly encouraged. Included with general admission; ticket prices vary based on day of the week. 9am to 5pm daily.
  • The Great Pumpkin Hunt at Bellaire Town Square | Thursday, October 26 | FREE – Come dressed in your Halloween best and hunt for toys, candy, and prize-filled pumpkins at Bellaire Town Square. There will be music, games, and more. 4pm.
  • Halloween Happy House at Children’s Museum Houston | Thursday, October 26 | FREE – Bring the family in costume for the Museum’s ultimate Halloween party for kids. Boogie to the hauntingly hip tunes of Radio ONE’s wicked DJs along with monstrous characters, craft activities and more. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Legends & Lore at Galveston County Museum | Friday, October 27 – This hour-long, family-friendly storytelling session recounts the haunts, legends and lore of Galveston Island. Learn who haunts the stairs of the Hutchings-Sealy Building, the story of the headless man of Galveston, and other ghostly tales from the Island. $10; $5 ages 10 and under. 2:30pm.
  • Scream on the Green at Discovery Green | Friday, October 27 | FREE – The annual Halloween celebration will feature a costume contest with prizes across eight different categories, a dance party with DJ Mohawk Steve, roaming performances by Cirque Olympus, and a screening of Disney’s Hocus Pocus. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Monster House Movie Screening at Levy Park | Friday, October 27 | FREE – Watch an outdoor screening of the 2006 animated movie, Monster House, about the misadventures of three teens who believe that an old ramshackle dwelling in their neighborhood houses a man-eating entity that is feasting on the locals. 7:30pm.
  • Island Oktoberfest at First Lutheran Church of Galveston | Friday, October 27 & Saturday, October 28 | FREE – The family-friendly Oktoberfest returns for two days of live entertainment on two stages, an extensive menu of authentic German food and libations, a cake wheel, shopping in the historic 1860 Lyceum, contests, beer and wine events, kids activities, and more. German attire is encouraged. Friday 5pm to 10pm; Saturday 11am to 10pm.
  • Haunted House at Imperial Park Recreation Center | Friday, October 27 to Sunday, October 29 | FREE – Brace yourself to be scared as Imperial Park Recreation Center in Sugar Land transforms into a Haunted House. A smaller walk-through area for younger kids ages 4 to 7 offers a less spooky trip, but be ready for jump and scare elements throughout the entire haunted house area. $5. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Fall Festival at Urban Harvest Farmers Market | Saturday, October 28 – Get a taste of autumn at the return of this fall festival to the city’s largest farmers market. Take in cooking demos, snap a photo in front of a fall scene, grab a free starter plant to take home, and enjoy plenty of family fun like arts and crafts, face painting, and more. 9am to 11am.
  • Halloween Classic Car Show at National Museum of Funeral History | Saturday, October 28 – The NMFH hosts the annual Halloween Classic Car Show, featuring “trunk-or-treating” for candy amongst classic cars dressed up for the holiday. Costumes strongly encouraged. $10 per person; $15 per couple or family. 10am to 3pm.
  • Hike, Bike & Fright Fest: Trick-or-Treat Trail at M-K-T | Saturday, October 28 | FREE – The Hike, Bike & Fright Fest wraps up in the Heights with a Saturday afternoon packed with costumed family-friendly entertainment and shopping. The free Trick-or-Treat Trail offers kids a chance to stop for sweets and treats throughout M-K-T, plus AndyRoo will lead kids in a special Trick-or-Treat Trail Mix singalong concert. A bustling plant market with more than 50 vendors will also offer an opportunity to shop rare and beginner-friendly plants. Noon to 6pm.
  • Día de Muertos Festival at MECA Houston | Saturday, October 28 & Sunday, October 29 | FREE – The annual two-day Día de los Muertos community festival in Sixth Ward returns, packed with delicious foods, live music and dance performances, arts and crafts activities, a local vendor market, artists, ofrendas and more. 11am to 7pm.
  • Halloween Spooktacular at the Bryan Museum | Sunday, October 29 | FREE – Come dressed and ready to scare at a Halloween Spooktacular in Galveston. Take your pick of activities at the outdoor celebration, complete with candy stations, outdoor games, a ghost hunt in the garden, spooky stories in the gazebo, a walking costume parade, photo opportunities, and more. Costumes are encouraged. Free activities are held outside, and museum admission is free for ages 11 and under. 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
  • Island Boo Fest Trunk or Treat in Downtown Galveston | Sunday, October 29 | FREE – Galveston Golf Cart Society presents the return of the Island Boo Fest to downtown Galveston, featuring golf cart trunk or treat, kids costume contests, a golf cart decorating contest, a food drive, a downtown trick or treat, and more. Nonperishable food donations are encouraged for the Galveston County Food Bank. Free to attend; trick or treat open for ages 2 to 12. Decorated golf cart participation is $35. 1pm.
  • Hops & History: A Tour of Old Settler’s Cemetery Family Edition | Sunday, October 29 – Follow a pathfinder from the past, hear from early Pearland residents, and enjoy cold beverages back at Vallensons Brewery at a family-friendly tour of the Old Settler’s Cemetery. Advance tickets only; includes 2 drink tokens. $25. 2pm.
  • USPA Centennial Cup at Houston Polo Club | Sunday, October 29 – Bring your ghouls and boys in Halloween costumes to a fall polo match near Memorial Park. There will be a special candy toss on the field at halftime plus a world class polo match, player parade, live music, expert announcing, and more. $18 and up. 4pm.
