Join Houston Chefs Lyle Bento of Southern Goods and Mark Parmley of El Big Bad on an exploration of ethnic comfort foods with Houston Culinary Tours on Sunday, May 1, 2016.
The exact details and 3 to 4 restaurant destinations will be kept secret until guests arrive to start the tour at the designated Central Market meet up spot in Highland Village. Guests are being asked to arrive at Central Market’s parking lot to board the bus fifteen minutes before scheduled departure.
Those attending will be given an agenda list upon arrival, a swag bag filled with Houston-centric goodies courtesy of Visit Houston and tour theme swag from the program’s sponsor Central Market. Admission includes the above as well as water and beer from Saint Arnold’s Brewery and transportation/tour by The Wave for this 21 and up only event. Click here for more information.
About the Chefs
Coming off of a recent win at the Iron Fork Awards at Houston Press’ Menu of Menus, Chef Lyle Bento has proven to be one of Houston’s rising culinary talents even when up against the likes of James Beard award winner Chris Shepherd of Underbelly and Richard Knight of Hunky Dory for Best Chef at Culturemap‘s Tastemakers awards.
There’s no doubt he’ll be in good company with Mark Parmley, who previously oversaw both the culinary program for suites at Minute Maid Park and NRG Stadium in addition to having worked in highly lauded Houston kitchens including Brennan’s, Catalan and most recently, El Big Bad.
