Volunteer to help clear downed trees and storm debris at Discovery Green on Thursday, July 11 from 8am to noon.

In the wake of Hurricane Beryl, the Downtown park space Discovery Green is asking Houstonians for their help in clearing debris throughout the park.

Discovery Green is organizing a volunteer cleanup session on the morning of Thursday, July 11 from 8am to noon, clearing downed tree limbs and other storm debris, and moving them to the outer edges of the park to be picked up by cleanup crews.

Volunteers are instructed to bring water, gloves, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Snacks will be provided.

All events this week originally scheduled at Discovery Green have been canceled through Monday, July 15.
