Take in the charming and music and wit of the Texas roots music artist Dale Watson when he performs acoustically inside Galveston’s historic 1859 St. Joseph’s Church on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at 6:30pm.

Galveston Historical Foundation is welcoming the Austin-based honky-tonker, who is known for carrying on in the tradition of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson with his “Ameripolitan” brand of American roots music.

Dale has flown the flag for classic honky-tonk for over two decades. He’s christened his brand of American roots to differentiate it from current crop of Nashville-based pop country. The Alabama-born, Texas-raised Watson may be the hardest working entertainer today and is rapidly approaching legendary status.

Tickets will be limited to 200 guests.

Watson will also be performing with his full band, The Lone Stars, in a free, non-acoustic concert at the August music edition of Galveston’s Strand Summer Series at Saengerfest Park on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 6:30pm to 9pm. Learn more.
