The Bryan Museum’s Texas History 101 is a 60-minute talk series led by the museum’s history specialist, Amelia White, exploring topics in Texas history in-depth.

“Come and Take It” was the rallying cry at Gonzales in October 1835 when a small group of colonists defied military orders over the possession of a small cannon. By the end of 1835, the colonists had taken control of all military assets in Texas.
