Get “A View Within” the human body when medicine meets textiles in an exhibition on view at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft through Saturday, September 3, 2016.

Inspired by body imaging, A View Within showcases textiles by Karen Rips and Paula Chung based off non-invasive medical renderings the artists collected over time from friends, family members, and strangers.

The artists’ textiles shine a light on the beauty, strength and vulnerability of the body through their introduction of emotion to what typically are thought to be static images.
