Get your lucky clover on at great St. Patrick’s Day parties across Houston

Pull out all of your green clothes to prepare for a three days of events celebrating the four leaf clover, with great St. Patrick’s Day events happening across Houston from Saturday, March 15 through St. Patrick’s Day itself, Monday, March 17, 2014.

Houston loves its St. Patrick’s Day bashes. Here are a few of our favorite spots in town that might have the brew for what ails you.

Saturday, March 15

  • 55th Houston St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown | FREE – Join H-Town’s Irish and Irish-at-heart as Houston’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade moves through the Downtown streets. Noon.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade After Party at Karbach Cookoff at Lucky’s Downtown – Celebrate another successful parade, and the Dynamo’s upcoming evening game against Montreal, with green beer starting at 1pm.
  • Irish Cookoff at Griff’s | FREE Admission – Enjoy an all day Irish stew, chicken, chili and open dish cook off all day. Show up before 10am to join a caravan to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown.
  • St. Paddy’s Day Bash at Howl at the Moon – Enjoy dueling pianos all day with drink specials including 16-ounce green beer for $4 and 
”Leprechaun Bombs” for $6. Doors open at 11am.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Weekend at Bronx Bar in Rice Village | FREE Admission – Make it a three-day party with $2 green beer, live music and jello shots at this Rice Village Favorite. Doors open at 11am.
  • The Biggest St. Pat’s Festival in Midtown at Celtic Gardens, 3rd Floor and Pub Fiction – Three venues combine for a three-day marathon party for St. Patrick’s Day, with live bands and DJs and green beer all weekend. $10 at the door per day. Doors open at 11am.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at Little Woodrow’s Midtown – Enjoy green beer and live music from Molly and the Ringwalds and Positive Disturbance. 1pm to 10pm.

Sunday, March 16, 2014

  • St. Patrick’s Day Weekend at Bronx Bar in Rice Village | FREE Admission – Make it a three-day party with $2 green beer, live music and jello shots at this Rice Village Favorite. Doors open at 11am.
  • Crawfish at the Biggest St. Pat’s Festival in Midtown at Celtic Gardens, 3rd Floor and Pub Fiction – Put some red in your green celebration with crawfish on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day. Enjoy live bands and DJs and green beer. $10 at the door per day. Doors open at 11am.
  • H-Town St. Patrick’s Day Throwdown at Silver Street Studios – Enjoy delicious food and drinks, with music from Celtic-rock band The Blaggards, cover-band The Mockingbirds and more. $20. Noon to 6pm.
  • Little J’s St. Patrick’s Day Outdoor Festival – Enjoy draft green beer and Irish car bombs while indulging in Bayou Q BBQ and listening to music from DJ VIP, Buffaloes Roam and Metacrisis Band. $10 in advance. $15 day of event. Noon to 10pm.
  • 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Bash at Proof Rooftop Lounge | FREE with Advance RSVP – Expect plenty of green a day early at Proof’s Irish celebration with green beer, green Jello shots, green-clad go-go dancers and more. Free if you RSVP and wear green; $10 at the door. 5pm to 10pm.

St. Patrick’s Day, Monday, March 17, 2014

  • Griff’s 49th Annual St. Patrick’s Festival – Self-billed as Texas’ largest St. Patrick’s Day festival, Griff’s culminates its week of Irish-themed events with the big event, complete with eight live bands. $10 cover. Doors open at 8pm; live music starts at 2pm.
  • 7th Annual St. Patrick’s Festival at Lucky’s Pub in EaDo, the Heights and Cypress – Join in the daylong festivities complete with leprechauns, bagpipers, live music and DJs. Starts at 6am in Downtown and 11am in the Heights and Cypress. $10 general admission; $50 VIP.
  • The Biggest St. Pat’s Festival in Midtown at Celtic Gardens, 3rd Floor and Pub Fiction – The final day of this three-venue weekend bash concludes on St. Patrick’s Day itself, with live bands and DJs and green beer. $10 at the door. Doors open at 11am.
  • Irish Pub Kenneally’s – Expect live music from Luther and the Healers and from the Willie Collins Band. Irish lunch will be served until 3pm, with pizza available by the slice afterwards. $10 cover. Doors open at noon.
  • St. Patrick’s Day at Baker Street Pub in Rice Village, Cypress, Willowbrook, Katy, Sugar Land and The Woodlands | FREE Admission – Swill some green beer, enjoy corned beef, cabbage and live music all night long at Baker Street Pub’s popular locations inside the Loop and across the greater Houston area.
  • Saint Patrick’s Day Bash at Sherlock’s Baker Street Pub on Westheimer – Sherlock’s in Highland Village explodes with St. Paddy’s fun, with live music green beer, delicious Irish grub and more all night long. $10.
  • McElroy’s Pub | FREE Admission before 6pm – The Irish-owned pub on Richmond will feature the Bourbon Street Band, bagpipers, Irish dancers and more. Expect a cover once the band goes on. Noon to 2am.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parking Lot Party at the Harp – The friendly Irish pub on Richmond celebrates with Irish dancers, bagpipers, food and drink specials. Since they’re filling up the parking lot with people, valet parking will be available. Opens at 3pm. They will have a cover but as of Friday, March 14, the bar hasn’t set it yet.
  • McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – McGonigel’s celebrates St. Paddy’s with a Celtic fest. Under the prerequisite tent, a number of Celtic bands and artists take to the stage. Tickets are $22 at the door, or $20 in advance. Doors open at 11am.
