Kick off your Saturday night with a free live comedy, improv, and sketch show from Beta Theater at Historic Market Square on Saturday, June 11, 2016.
Downtown’s popular monthly event series continues to shine with original, hyper-local programming and entertainment in the very heart of the Bayou City. June’s installment of 2nd Saturday Nites kicks off with tunes spun by Alexo, followed by the hilarious comedic talents of Houston’s own Beta Theater.
After the show, you can explore the lively, eclectic mix of bars and restaurants in the greater Historic Market Square neighborhood and treat yourself to tasty food truck bites at the Market on Main.
Beta Theater Comedy Show
Since 2013, Beta has been incubating local, home grown talent, making a name for its performers’ skills in improv, standup, and sketch comedy.
Headquartered in the Third Ward, members of the troupe are frequent performers in Downtown and around the Loop. Their 2nd Saturday Nites show marks their debut performance in Market Square Park.
Market on Main
Just one block over, food trucks will be lined up along Market on Main from 7pm to 2am, offering tasty bites to satisfy your dinner, snack, and late night cravings. Participating trucks include Custom Confections, Kurbside Eatz, The Lucky Fig, Photo Moto, and Taco Nut.

Be Prepared
Bring blankets or lawn chairs to stake out your spot in the audience. Picnics are welcome, but outside alcoholic drinks are not permitted in Market Square Park. Beer and wine will be available for purchase inside the park at Niko Niko’s. You can also find tasty food to go at Niko Niko’s and at many of the restaurants circling the park.
