Spend your evening with adventurer, climber, and wing-suit flyer, Joby Ogwyn as he speaks about his experiences at a benefit gala for the Denali Foundation at the Houstonian on Friday, February 12, 2016.

Enjoy a seated dinner and live entertainment at The Houstonian Hotel for an evening honoring Nepalese Sherpa Tashi Lakpa and renowned artist Graydon Parrish.

Hear from guest speaker, Joby Ogwyn as he shares his presentation Dream of Flight – in which he’ll discuss his experiences as a mountaineer and wing-suit flyer.

About Joby Ogwyn

Joby Ogwyn is an American mountain climber, base jumper, and wing suit flyer born and raised in Louisiana. After spending his youth in the South Ogwyn summited Mount Kilimanjaro by the time he was just 18. When he first summited Mount Everest in 1999, he was at the time the youngest American to do so. In 2004 Ogwyn beat the speed ascent record of an 8,000 meter peak at the Tibetan peak Cho Oyu. Ogwyn planned to jump off Mt. Everest in a wing suit in May 2014, but after an avalanche on Everest’s lower slopes during the month of April, causing the deaths of 16 Sherpa guides, the jump was cancelled.

About The Denali Foundation

The Denali Foundation preserves the artwork of Denali Schmidt and provides art supplies to underserved communities. The organization honors the deep passion that Schmidt had for art and adventure and was formed after Denali and his father Marty were killed on K2 during the summer of 2013.
