• Pearland Restaurant Weeks | Wednesday to Sunday | Ongoing – Throughout the month of November, the growing restaurant scene in Pearland will showcase curated menus and specialty offerings, with a portion of all orders going to support Pearland Neighborhood Center. Fixed-price menus are $29 for 2-course breakfasts and lunches; $35 for 3-course dinners. Times and locations vary.
• Lone Star Rally in Downtown Galveston | Thursday to Sunday – Check out the juried bike shows, plus truck, jeep and classic car shows, free concerts on two stages and more as this popular festival returns to the island. Look for more than 40 musical performances, hundreds of vendors, food and family fun. Free, with charges for some events. Times vary. 
• Le Fête du Champagne at Multiple Locations | Friday & Saturday – Making its Houston debut, La Fête du Champagne celebrates and showcases the region’s top producers and wines, with events including a Champagne Pierre Paillard Lunch at Navy Blue, Champagne Salon & Champagne Delamotte Dinner at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse Downtown, and both a La Fête Tasting and Gala Dinner at Bludorn. $165 and up. Times vary.
• The Riot Comedy Club presents Greg Fitzsimmons at Rudyard’s Pub | Friday to Sunday – Known for his appearances on popular shows like Howard Stern, Conan and Jimmy Kimmel, Fitzsimmons brings his blend of wit and sarcasm to Montrose. $25 and up. Times vary.
• Comedian Chris Tucker at Bayou Music Center | Saturday & Sunday – The Rush Hour actor and Def Jam comic comes to Downtown Houston for back-to-back nights of the Legend Tour. $54 and up. Saturday 8pm; Sunday 7pm.

• Kinky Monday Halloween at Numbers Nightclub – Ring in Halloween proper with a special edition of Kinky Monday at the Montrose nightclub. Take in performances, compete in a costume contest, and check out local artists and vendors. Cover charge at the door. 7pm to 2am.
• Ziwe at Hobby Center – Just days after releasing her debut book of essays, Black Friend, the comedian, writer and actress headlines a night at Hobby Center. Emerging from social media, the talented host of her self-titled late-night variety sketch show is known for her sharp satire and salient commentary on race and politics in America. $54.50 and up. 7:30pm.
• John Mayer in Concert at Toyota Center – The guitar virtuoso is embarking on a solo acoustic tour, ending October in Clutch City with a performance of songs on piano and electric guitar, too. He’ll be bringing JP Saxe with him in support. $59 and up. 7:30pm.

Halloween, Tuesday, October 31, 2023

• Halloween Bar Crawl at FAO – Stop by for check-in at FAO in Midtown, then head out on a crawl through several venues like Unicorn Disco, Dogwood and Wonder Bar for Halloween Night bar hopping. $26. 4pm to 11:30pm.
• Halloween Candlelit Concert at Post Houston | FREE – Monarch Chamber Players brings classical music to the Skylawn at Post, ushering in Halloween with a free concert open to the public of all ages. Standing room is free; reserved seating is limited and costs $15. 8pm.
• The Neon Rouge presents The Spooky Spectacular at the Isis Theater – The Neon Rouge presents a Halloween edition of its monthly cabaret and burlesque show in the historic—and haunted—Isis Theater in Downtown. Jazz age attire and costumes are encouraged, and winner of the costume contest will bring home a prize worth $500. $35 and up. 8:30pm.
• Biggest Halloween Party at Metropolis y Extravaganza – The West Houston Latin nightclub hosts a Halloween party with a costume contest, $5,000 in cash prizes and more. Cover charge after 10pm. 9pm to 2am.
• Halloween at Numbers Nightclub – The annual tradition continues in Montrose with Halloween night dancing and surprises, plus more than $1,000 in cash and prizes for the costume contest, and more. Cover charge at the door. 9pm to 2am.
• Party 101 with DJ Matt Bennett at Rise Rooftop – The actor and DJ heads to the Midtown rooftop for a Halloween night set, joined by Disco Shrine. $18 and up. 10pm to 2am.

• Ice Cream for Dinner Wine Dinner at Sweet Bribery – The Heights ice cream shop hosts a 7-course ice cream dinner, paired with wines. $55. 5:45pm to 7:30pm.
• Candlelight Open Air: Día de los Muertos String Quartet Concert at Houston Arboretum – Get out in nature on the first day of Día de los Muertos with DIVISI’s Amp’d String Quartet who will perform traditional Mexican folk music, with songs such as “La Llorona” and “La Bruja,” plus music from artists like Juan Gabriel and Lola Beltran. $55 and up. 6:30pm and 8:45pm.
• Kevin Gates at 713 Music Hall – The 713 welcomes hip-hop superstar Kevin Gates and his Only the Generals tour. $69.50 and up. 8pm.

• Fall Harvest Charcuterie Class at Ingenious Brewing Company – You’ll be a hit at your next party when you employ the tips you learn to make a killer charcuterie board at this hands-on class. Expect to use items like figs, apples, pumpkins and other fall-themed pieces. $50. 6pm.
• Dia de los Muertos Dinner at El Venado Tacos & Tequila – Enjoy a multi-course meal with wine selections at the Washington Avenue spot for tacos and tequila. Bring pictures and offerings to place on the community ofrenda. $50 and up. 6pm.
• Fish Camp, Brews & Blues at Goode Company Armadillo Palace – Savor coastal dishes and signature culinary creations like Bay gumbo, Gulf shrimp taquitos, and redfish and crab fried rice, while you enjoy live music from The Mighty Orq. A portion of the event’s proceeds go toward CCA’s Building Conservation Trust, ensuring the preservation of marine resources and enhancing anglers’ access. $100. 6pm to 9pm.
• Candlelight Open Air: Día de los Muertos Mariachi Concert at Houston Arboretum – Adelaide Pilar Band heads to the nature center at Memorial Park for an evening mariachi concert by candlelight that features traditional Mexican folk songs, songs by Juan Gabriel and Julieta Venegas, and more. $55 and up. 6:30pm and 8:45pm.
• Buffalo Bayou Partnership Gala at the Water Works – With a theme of Branching Out Along Buffalo Bayou, this annual fundraiser for the Buffalo Bayou Partnership showcases the wonders of Houston’s most famous waterway, and brings in dollars for BBP’s educational and community programming. $650 and up. 6:30pm to 10:30pm.
• Day of the Dead: Blood Dance in Concert at Henke & Pillot – The Mexico City ensemble, known for its post punk and Goth music, arrives in Houston for a Día de los Muertos celebration that also includes Death of the Last Beautiful Jaguar and live DJs. $15 and up. 7pm.
• Luis Miguel in Concert at Toyota Center – The legendary Mexican pop star, with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and known around the globe for his pop, bolero and mariachi tunes, comes to Houston for a live performance. $116 and up. 8pm.
• Comedian B.K. Sharad at the Secret Group – His Insta labels himself as the “the tallest Indian comedian in Colorado,” and he told Boulder Weekly “I like making fun of everybody.” Now is your chance to catch him live on stage in EaDo. $10 and up. 10pm.

• Night Market 2023 at Asia Society Texas Center | FREE – The popular annual event returns to the Museum District, offering a host of family-friendly activities including a curated marketplace, games and cultural installations, an Otaku Alley highlighting all things manga, anime and cosplay, sumo wrestling demonstrations, a Japanese-style carnival, and more. Free for outdoors; some indoor events cost $5 and up. 6pm to 10pm.
• Argentine Wines with an Italian Meal at Central Market – A menu of Italian favorites is highlighted and enhanced by pairing the dishes with Trapiche wines from Argentina. You’ll learn how to pair food and wine together, and see how the flavors of the wine complement the dishes. $95 per person. 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
• Fall Cheese & Cider Pairing at City Orchard – Learn about the cider-making process, sample four ciders paired with cheese selected from Houston Dairy Maids, and get a better understanding of how the flavors work together to create tasty harmony. $50. 7pm.
• Adult Swim Art Show at Hardy & Nance Studios | FREE – Check out the original work of local artists in this tribute to Adult Swim’s past and present programs. The works showcase a variety of media and creativity. 7pm to 11pm.
• Performing Arts Houston presents An Evening With David Sedaris at Jones Hall – The author and satirist, known for Me Talk PrettyOne Day, Holidays on Ice, Naked, Calypso and other works, comes to town to discuss his observations about life and his work. $29 and up. 7:30pm.
• The Lighthouse & the Whaler at Continental Club – The rock quartet, formed in Cleveland in 2008, have played their blend of folk, alternative and rock across more than a decade. They bring their distinct sound to Mid-Main’s stage for this live concert. $15. 9pm.
• Tejano Legends Tribute at Rise Rooftop – This concert honors Tejano legend Emilio Navaira, a Grammy Award–winning singer and songwriter who infused Tejano sound with rock, country and pop; and Jimmy Gonzalez, founding of Group Mazz, one of Tejano’s most lauded groups. Performed by Navaira and Gonzalez’s sons, they’ll share their fathers’ music and stories of the musicians. $20 and up. 9pm.
• James Hype DJ Set at Noto Houston – The English DJ and record producer, known for “More Than Friends,” “Ferrari” and “Good Luck” comes to Houston to perform live. He’s known for high-energy sets and forward-thinking production. $30 and up. 9pm to 1am.
• Yetep DJ Set at Stereo Live – The L.A.-based EDM DJ and producer comes to Houston, bringing his signature sentimental and ethereal sound to this live set. He’s known for “Losing You,” “Never Go Back” and “Echo (featuring Austin Allison).” $8 and up. 10pm to 2am.

Saturday, November 4, 2023 

• 10th Annual Houston Afrifest at Houston Christian University – Celebrate the rich tapestry of African cultures at this festival that features a market with local and international vendors, and showcases the arts, music, fashion, and foods from across the region—all amidst the warmth and hospitality of Houston’s African community. $5 and up. 11am to 7pm. 
• 7th Anniversary Party at Platypus Brewing | No Cover – This all-day celebration of the Aussie-inspired brewery features live music, drinks and food specials. Come out to Washington Avenue and see why this local brewer has been a favorite for nearly a decade. Noon.
• Wine Tasting at Light Years Natural Wine Shop & Bar – This afternoon wine tasting in Montrose lets guests explore the ways soil connects people, places, food, and wine. It’s also an opportunity to try different selections and find a new favorite to take home. $50 per person. Noon to 2pm.
• FallFest & Artisan Market at B-52 Brewing Co. | No Cover – Join Vibe Artisan Markets in welcoming fall with the FallFest and Artisan Market featuring over 45 artisan vendors, craft beer, food trucks and live music at the spacious Conroe brewery. Noon to 5pm.
• Trail Mixology at Houston Botanic Garden – Take a one-of-a-kind stroll along the trails as you discover imaginative cocktails and free-spirited drinks, inspired by Houston Botanic Garden’s Global Collection and Culinary Gardens. You’ll sample infusions featuring herbs, flowers, and foliage that you can grow in your own garden. ​$55. 2pm to 5pm.
• 3rd Annual Houston Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival at Sam Houston Park in Downtown | FREE – Venture downtown for this evening of live music, a parade procession from 7pm to 8pm, delicious concessions, arts and crafts, and more. Free to participate in the parade, but traditional attire—full of pageantry and beauty—is recommended. 2pm to 10pm.
• Tic-Tac-Hobo Opening Reception at Archway Gallery | FREE – Be among the first to see the prints and tapestries in this exhibit by artist Blaine Davis. The artist will discuss his career and the exhibit at 6:30pm, and the event features light bites, wine and valet parking. 5pm to 8pm.
• Where the Wild Things Art: 42nd Annual Gala at the Orange Show World HQ – Gather for a seated dinner, cocktails, a silent auction, art installation, tarot readers and fortune tellers, and more fun. Proceeds from the evening’s event help fund Orange Show programming. $500 and up. 7pm to midnight. 
• After Eras: Swiftie Dance Night at Last Concert Cafe – Dance the night away to songs like “Blank Space,” “Cruel Summer” and other Taylor Swift favorites. It’s a chance to keep the party going from her wildly popular Eras Tour. $20. 9pm.
• Nothing But The ’90s at J-Bar-M Barbecue | No Cover – The EaDo barbecue and beer joint welcomes this all-90s party, featuring your favorite hits so you can dance the night away. 9pm to midnight. 

Sunday, November 5, 2023 

• Brash Bazaar & Market at Brash Brewing Company | No Cover – Dozens of vendors and artists plus food pop-ups are slated to be part of this fall celebration. It’s a chance to check out unique items and enjoy food and drink with new and old friends alike. Noon.
• Fall Festival: Tequila & Tacos at Social Beer Garden | No Cover – The Midtown beer garden hosts a fall festival with tequila-based cocktails, specials on Don Julio and Espolon, and tacos. Pet-friendly. All ages before 7pm. 3pm to 8pm.
• Culinary Adventure: An Ancient Meal at Moody Center for the Arts – Head to the Rice University campus, where you can feast like an ancient Sumerian. Chefs from Bite of Hope and the Iraqi community, with advice from the archaeologist Dr. Zaid Alrawi, replicate a meal from a 5,000-year-old tavern discovered at excavations in Iraq last summer. $65. 5pm to 7pm.
• Joe P in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The indie pop singer-songwriter and TikTok sensation, Joe P takes the stage at White Oak Music Hall. Juliana Madrid opens the show. $20. 7pm.
• ’80s Night: Time Warp at Warehouse Live– Like, dig out that Members Only jacket, totally put your hair up in a banana clip and dance the night away to your fave ‘80s tunes as Molly & The Ringwalds perform live. There’s a costume contest and cocktails, and the event benefits Demand Distruption, an anti-human trafficking organization. $88. 7:15pm.
• The Price Is Right Live at Smart Financial Centre – The wildly popular game show makes its way to Sugar Land, where lucky guests can “come on down” for their chance to compete in a number of games blending luck and skill with knowing the cost of items large and small. $40. 8pm.
