  • Remembering the 1917 Houston Mutiny & Riots at Memorial Park | Daily | FREE – Hosted by Memorial Park Conservancy and Buffalo Soldiers National Museum, this exhibit explores one of the darkest chapters in Houston and the nation’s history. Told through a series of audio installations, guests can walk through the former site of the Camp Logan military training camp and gain a deeper understanding of Houston history. On view through Tuesday, September 26. 7am to 8pm.
  • Sugar Land Space Cowboys vs. Oklahoma City Dodgers at Constellation Field | Daily – Cheer on the Space Cowboys as they play OKC in the second-to-last home series of the season. All week long, enjoy special events like Dollar Dog Wednesday, a pup-friendly game on Thursday, Friday fireworks, and giveaways like jerseys and bobbleheads. $9 and up.   • DiverseWorks presents D.R.E.A.M = A Way to Afram at MATCH | Thursday to Saturday – This immersive performance and installation features the work of Houston’s Li(sa E.) Harris in collaboration with Alisha B. Wormsley. Using sound, movement and visuals, this experience explores how the universe reveals safe spaces for Black beings to exist in their bodies. Pay-what-you-can. Showtimes vary.
  • Comedian Eddie Griffin at Houston Improv | Friday & Saturday – From rave reviews for his appearance on Def Comedy Jam to an Ace Award–winning HBO special and his Showtime special Undeniable, Griffin has been a fixture in the comedy world for more than 30 years. He brings his observations on life and people to Houston for back-to-back nights at the Improv. $180 for four, and up. Times vary.

  • Trucktoberfest at Truck Yard | Saturday & Sunday | No Cover – German food and drink are on tap for Truck Yard’s annual Trucktoberfest celebration. Break out the lederhosen to enjoy Oktoberfest beers, Pretzel Eating and Stein Hoisting contests for prizes, and more across two days of fun. All ages are welcome; 21+ after 9pm. Open at noon, contests start at 5pm.

  • Classical Theatre Company presents Medea at the DeLuxe Theater | Daily | Opening Weekend – Euripides’ classic Greek tragedy is the story of Medea and her hero husband Jason. When Jason tires of their marriage, Medea vows revenge on him and his new bride. Her actions will leave audiences’ heads spinning. $30. Showtimes vary.
  • AD Players presents Forever Plaid at the George Theater | Daily | Opening Weekend – The Plaids are on their way to a gig when they’re hit by a bus and killed instantly. What happens when they return from the afterlife for one final show? The answer lies in this beloved musical filled with barbershop harmonies and enchanting melodies. This production runs through Sunday, October 1. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • The Greatest Play in the History of the World at Spring Street Studios | Friday & Saturday | Opening Weekend – A love story set in space, this play starring Kacie Adams asks profound questions with deep sincerity while balancing the human quest for meaningful connections. It’s also about shoes. $20. 8pm.
  • Stages presents Always…Patsy Cline at the Gordy | Daily | Ongoing – Celebrating its 35th anniversary, this musical biography features 27 of the iconic country singer’s hits, while showcasing her rise to stardom in the 1960s. It’s also the story of the friendship between Cline and Houston native Louise Seger, who met the singer in a Bayou City honky tonk. $48 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Music Box Theater presents Back to the ‘80s at Queensbury Theater | Friday & Saturday | Ongoing – The cabaret group performs a concert of hits from the era of legwarmers, Members Only jackets and big hair. Expect your ‘80s favorites along with hilarity and hijinks. $38 and up. 7:30pm.
  • POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive at the Gordy | Friday to Sunday | Ongoing – This feminist farce explores power, misogyny and how women both support and undermine each other. When the president makes an off-color statement including a certain four-letter word, all hell breaks loose. The women on his staff and in his family roll into action to contain the fallout, even as events spool out of their control. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • TUTS presents Jagged Little Pill at Hobby Center | Daily | Final Weekend – Backed by the songs of Alanis Morrisette, this story of a perfectly imperfect American family explores the themes of love, heartache and strength, even as it tackles deeper issues of drug use and sexual violence. The New York Times called the show one that “stands alongside the original musicals that have sustained the best hopes of Broadway.” Houston native Liesie Kelly joins the ensemble. $40 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • The Great American Trailer Park Musical at Art Factory | Friday to Sunday | Final Weekend – Come down to Stark, Florida and the mobile home community of Armadillo Acres where new resident and local stripper Pippi is about to seriously shake things up. $30. Showtimes vary.

The film gives historical context to the current Russian invasion and lays bare the costs of the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.   • Pentatonix in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The award-winning a capella pop group takes the stage in the Woodlands.
