Get on the road for Kerouac Fest 2013, Daddy-O

Head over to The Orange Show for Visionary Arts for Saturday’s Kerouac Fest 2013 (March 9).

Celebrating Jack Kerouac through entertainment, education and enlightment, this Houston festival invokes the soul of the Beat Generation. It doesn’t matter if you’re a diehard aficianado of the Beat movement or have a vague spoof-toned impression courtesy of Mike Myers in So I Married an Axe Murderer. At either end, or in between, you’ll find your speed, hear great poetry and readings, and (as always at Houston’s The Orange Show) see fascinating people.

The event has been put together by the folks at Make.Play.Speak with the involvement of poet Stephen Gros and will feature performances, readings from On The Road and other Beat writings, panel discussions, live poetry, and live jazz performances.

Special thanks to our reader Caleb for his query that brought this one to our attention. Good luck on your paper!

Tickets are $10 at the door at The Orange Show.
