Put on your favorite fall sweater and head over to Five Points Plaza in La Porte for wine, music, art, food and good people on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 4pm to 9pm.
La Porte’s monthly Saturday evening farmers market continues to grow in popularity. On the third Saturday of each month, Bay Area residents, Houstonians and visitors alike gather to browse the produce and wares of local farmers and artisans.
Regardless of their ties to La Porte, everyone has reported a genuine sense of neighborliness and feeling “right at home” as people mingle and relax.
All ages are welcome at the free event and attendees 21 and over can enjoy a glass of wine as they peruse the local farmers’ monthly harvests, watch local artists do live tandem paintings, browse artisan creations, paint and decorate their own wine bottles and even stroll through the eclectic shops on nearby historic Main Street. In addition to the food vendors at the Sunset Sip and Stroll, folks can also enjoy a full meal at one of La Porte’s local nearby eateries.
Kids will be entertained by outdoor games, interactive artists and pumpkin crafts. And as the sun sets, Five Points Plaza will begin to glow with its own neon flourishes.
Rain Barrel Workshop
This month, Sunset Sip & Stroll will be hosting a booth featuring the barrels from Galveston Bay Foundation’s Rain Barrel Workshop, demonstrating how these tools built by Gulf Coast Renewable Resources in La Porte can have a dramatic impact on environmental impact, costs and efficiency. Visitors can visit with experts and see how the rain barrels work.
