Start your year on a good foot with our picks for dine-in and to-go menus on New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31 and New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1, 2024.

Whether you want to send off 2023 with a bang, or you need to find a hangover cure on the first day of 2024, some of Houston’s tastiest eateries will offer both with New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day special menus, live music, performances and more.

Here’s a quick look at some of the delicious dine-in and to-go options to close out 2023 and welcome 2024 around Houston.

2023 New Year’s Eve Dinners in Houston

  • New Year’s Eve Bash at Five Central | No Cover – This dining and nightlife cluster off Kirby Drive hosts an all-day New Years event that kicks off with brunch and DJ sets through the afternoon before the evening festivities get rolling at 7pm. Expect a night of live music and high-energy dancing through midnight, and a complimentary bottle of bubbles for VIP. Free to attend; $20 for VIP. 10am to 2am.
  • NYE Whole Hog Day Party at J-Bar-M Barbecue – Fill up on delicious smoked bbq for lunch before the evening parties begin. David Dan BBQ and Rosemeyer Bar-B-Q team up with the EaDo smokehouse for a whole hog special, serving up sandwiches on a pretzel bun with black eyed peas, collard greens, Maui Wowie sausage link, and a Lone Star until the pig is gone. The Mighty Orq will provide tunes from the outdoor stage. $40. 11am to 4pm.
  • New Year’s Eve Brunch at Ojo de Agua – Toast to the end of 2023 at this River Oaks District fave with a boozy brunch set to DJ tunes. Enjoy Mexican-style breakfast and lunch options or go for signature dishes like the Açai Bowl and a plate of chilaquiles. Wash it down with one of the tropical cocktails on offer, mimosas and a selection of spritzes, available by the pitcher for $75. Menu prices vary. 11:30am to 3:30pm.
  • KTSU New Year’s Eve Brunch & Day Party at the Eldorado Ballroom – Lucille’s delivers the eats for this New Year’s Eve jazz and gospel brunch at the historic Third Ward ballroom. Spud Howard, Jenni P and other special surprise guests will supply the music for the afternoon. $75. 11:30am to 3:30pm.
  • NYE Last Dance Brunch at We Olive & Wine Bar | No Cover – The Heights spot for wine and food celebrates the friends they made along the way with this final event on the last day of their six-year run. Come by to enjoy glasses and bottles from their selection of small production, artisan wines and enjoy 50% discounts on the remaining olive oils, balsamic vinegars and other retail products. Noon to 3pm.

  • New Year’s Eve Dinner at Brasserie du Parc – The upscale French restaurant in Downtown hosts one last dinner of the year, featuring dishes like beef tenderloin, seafood risotto, duck a l’orange, and more. $90. 4pm to 2am.
  • New Year’s Eve Specials at Rosalie Italian Soul – The Italian stunner inside the C. Baldwin Hotel in Downtown hosts a New Year’s dinner with offerings like lobster cannelloni and dry aged veal chop. $105. 5pm to 10pm.
  • 17-Course Omakase at Aiko – On Washington Avenue, this sushi experience from the minds behind Handies Duozo in Montrose offers 17 courses to close out 2023. The curated menu offers cold and hot dishes, assorted sushi and sashimi courses, and dessert, plus optional pairings with sake, wine and cocktails. $200. 5pm to 10pm.
  • New Year’s Eve Dinner Party at The Warwick | Uptown – Uptown’s upscale dining destination opens its doors—complete with a red carpet entrance—for a special New Year’s Eve party with an elevated prix-fixe 3-course dinner, with optional drink pairings, plus a red carpet entrance, 360 photo booth and more. With staggered 2-hour dinner seatings, families and groups with members of all ages can find a time window that perfectly suited to their bedtimes. $125. 5pm to 11pm.
  • New Year’s Eve Dinner at Brennan’s of Houston – Grab your New Years dinner at the Gulf-Creole institution in Midtown, which will serve up their dinner menu alongside music from a roaming jazz band. 5:30pm to 9pm.
  • New Year’s Eve at Tony’s – Work through a four-course Italian meal to send off 2023 from the Greenway favorite, Tony’s. Available for two seatings, the late window will also include a champagne toast and party favors at midnight. $115 for the early seating; $195 for the late seating. 5:30pm and 9:15pm.

  • New Year’s Eve at Sambuca – The Downtown nightlife destination located in the Rice Hotel will host multiple seatings for a three-course New Years dinner along with live music from the Tracy Perez Band and a midnight champagne toast. $65 and up. 6pm to midnight.
  • New Year’s Eve Supper Club at the San Luis Resort – Celebrate the coming of 2024 in extravagant style with a curated five-course New Year’s Eve Supper Club steakhouse dinner with wine service and an open bar. Password Band will play live for dancing, plus there will be a Champagne toast, countdown to midnight, party favors, and more. $325. 7pm to 2am.
  • Dancing & Desserts: NYE with Boomtown Brass Band at the Heights Theater – Spend New Year’s Eve enjoying live music from the New Orleans jazz group, Boomtown Brass Band and treat yourself to dessert selections and a champagne toast in the Heights. $28 and up. 9pm to 1am.
  • NYE Glam Gatsby Party at MaKiin – The upscale Thai concept from Kin Dee owner Lukkaew Srasrisuwan will ring in the new year with a special dinner service until 10pm. Enjoy highlights like Chef O’s Award-Winning Chicken—deboned chicken wings and a chicken lollipop stuffed with ground chicken, carrots, potatoes and Massaman curry paste; and the Sizzling Northern Adventures, which features paper-thin sliced short ribs in a Northern-style yellow curry broth. Stick around after your feast for a glam-filled way to ring in 2024 with a live DJ and complimentary champagne toast. 4pm to 10pm; party from 10pm to midnight.

2024 New Year’s Day Brunches in Houston

  • New Year’s Brunch at Blossom Hotel – Recover at the elegant Med Center hotel with a special brunch buffet with delicious faves like waffles, French toast, bacon, sausage, shrimp and grits and more, plus $5 mimosas and Bloody Marys. $30. 6:30am to 2pm.
  • Breakfast & Brunch at Dish Society – With multiple locations around Greater Houston, you’re not far from a New Year’s dish to kick start your first morning of the year. Swing by a spot nearest you and find tasty ways to start the day like chicken and biscuits, brisket ‘n’ eggs, Nutella French toast, shrimp and grits, and other delectable offerings. 7am to 3:30pm.
  • Brunch at Eloise Nichols – Celebrate the new year with hearty breakfast options plus all-day favorites like chicken and dumplings, prime rib beef dip sandwich and more, all with a free bowl of black-eyed peas. Prices vary. 7am to 9pm.
  • Vuelve ala Vida Micheladas at Original Ninfa’s on Navigation & Uptown – Starting on New Year’s Day through the week, you can bounce back into 2024 with a house-made michelada with fresh lime juice, Mode o Especial, cocktail chrimp and cucumber for $12. 10am to 2pm.
  • NY Brunch at Daily Gather – In CityCentre, you can start the year on hearty favorites from the weekend menu, including the pastry board, smoked salmon board, cheesy bacon benedict, and biscuits and gravy. Pair it up with top-notch coffee and cocktails for buzzy way to start 2024. Prices vary. 10am to 4pm.
  • Return to Life Brunch Buffet at Caracol, Hugo’s, and Xochi – Chef Hugo Ortega’s beloved spots Caracol, Hugo’s, and Xochi are known for their decadent Mexican brunch buffets, which you can enjoy on New Year’s Day with Mexican classics like chilaquiles, migas, huevos a la Mexicana, tostadas, chile rellenos, ceviches and more.
