• Zoo Boo at Houston Zoo | Daily through Halloween, Tuesday, October 31 – Bring the little ghouls and goblins to the Houston Zoo for some age-appropriate Halloween fun. Visit the Giant Pumpkin, ride a spooktacular Scary-Go-Round, find photo ops throughout the Zoo, walk the Lantern Tunnel between the lion and tiger exhibits, and more. Costumes are strongly encouraged. Included with general admission; ticket prices vary based on day of the week. 9am to 5pm daily.
• Galaxy Frights at Space Center Houston | Saturday & Sunday – Explore the wonders of space with a spooky twist when Space Center hosts their annual Halloween-themed Galaxy Frights. Trick-or-treat in your best costumes throughout the Space Center, snap a pic at photo stations, take in a new kinetic light show, find your way through a black hole inflatable maze, and more. $29.95; $24.95 for ages 4 to 11; free for ages 3 and under. 10am to 6pm.

• Scream on the Green at Discovery Green | Friday, October 27 | FREE – The free family-friendly celebration returns to Discovery Green with a night of costume contests, a dance party, roaming performers from Cirque Olympus and a lawn screening of Hocus Pocus. 6pm to 10pm.
• Monster House Movie Screening at Levy Park | Friday, October 27 | FREE – The Greenway park hosts a free screening of the 2006 Halloween film, Monster House. Follow the misadventures of three teens who believe that an old ramshackle dwelling in their neighborhood houses a man-eating entity that is feasting on the locals. 7:30pm.
• Haunted House at Imperial Park Recreation Center | Friday, October 27 to Sunday, October 29 – Sugar Land’s Imperial Park rec center opens its doors to little goblins for a family-friendly haunted house. A smaller walk-through area for younger kids ages 4 to 7 offers a less spooky trip, but be ready for jump and scare elements throughout the entire haunted house area. $5. 6pm to 9pm.

• Monster Mash Kids K/5K/10K at Karbach Brewing Company – This Halloween-themed run event sends pavement pounders in-costume through the neighborhood around Karbach in Spring Branch. Things get rolling with the 5K and 10K events, with a Kids K to take place at 9:30am, and post-race celebration throughout the morning. Registration is $50 and up for the 10K; $40 and up for the 5K; and $20 and up for the Kids K. 7:30am.
• Fall Festival at Urban Harvest Farmers Market | FREE – Costumes are encourages at a celebration of the fall harvest, when Houston’s largest farmers market expands with free photo opps with vintage Chevy truck and fall décor, arts and crafts for kids, starter plant giveaways while supplies last, face painting, a caricature artist, and more. 9am to 11am.
• Fall Family Day at Market Square Park Farmers Market | FREE – Costumes and spooky attire are encouraged at a special edition of Downtown’s weekly market, featuring a pumpkin patch, trick-or-treat stations, a kids craft zone, photo opportunities, live music and dancing, and more. Plus, families can take home a free pumpkin by completing a vendor bingo card. 9am to 1pm.
• Halloween in the Park at George Ranch Historical Park – See how people in the past celebrated All Hallow ‘s Eve at the historical park in Fort Bend. • Halloween Classic Car Show at the National Museum of Funeral History – The annual Halloween-themed car show returns to the North Houston museum of all thing funerary. • 2nd Annual Island Boo Fest Trunk or Treat in Downtown Galveston | FREE – Galveston Golf Cart Society presents the return of the Island Boo Fest to downtown Galveston, featuring golf cart trunk or treat, kids costume contests, a golf cart decorating contest, a food drive, a downtown trick or treat, and more. • 11th Annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat at CityCentre | Monday, October 30 | FREE – Go on a spooky stroll through CityCentre in your costume for tricks and treats. Stores and restaurants throughout the district will have goodies for the the little trick-or-treaters and be marked with a festive balloon outside their door. Then, head to the plaza for spooky DJ tunes, a witchy Halloween performance, and other fun activities. 5pm to 8pm.
• Happy Halloween at Children’s Museum Houston | Tuesday, Halloween, October 31 – On Halloween, families can swing by the children’s museum for a day spooky DJ tunes, magic shows, storytimes, face painters and all sorts of other seasonal fun. $17 for ages 1 and up. 4pm to 8pm.
• Boo Bash at Katy Mills Mall | FREE – Bring your ghouls, goblins, and little monsters to the AMC Plaza as Katy Mills Mall hosts a Boo Bash with trick or treating in a family-friendly environment. 5pm.
• Halloween Boo Bash at Humble Civic Center | Tuesday, Halloween, October 31 | FREE – This fourth annual event features live performances by local dance and drill teams, face painting, inflatables, a costume contest and plenty of candy. 5pm to 9pm.
• Trick or Treat Trail at Independence Park | Tuesday, Halloween, October 31 | FREE – Families can take to this 19th annual event in Pearland, where local businesses and organizations will line the “trail” to pass out candy and other goodies. 5:30pm to 8pm.
