Give your belly a workout with the over-the-top hilarity of Doomsday Wrestling Live, taking the ring at 2nd Saturday Nites in Historic Market Square on Saturday, April 9, 2016.

Historic Market Square’s new monthly event series, 2nd Saturday Nites, continues its Downtown domination in April with a fist-pounding, tongue-in-cheek evening headlined by family-friendly wrestling, larger-than-life personas, and luchador-inspired highjacks.

After the show, grown-ups will also find special entertainment and offers at many of the neighborhood’s eclectic bars and restaurants, including Little Dipper, OKRA Charity Saloon, Niko Niko’s, La Fisheria, Dean’s Downtown and Treebeards.

Meanwhile, the Market on Main will also keep things bustling with food and fashion trucks from 7pm until 2am along the 300 and 400 blocks of Main Street.

Arrive early for a game of cornhole or giant Jenga in Niko Niko’s Game Garden. Entertainment starts at 6:30pm, as The Wrestlers – a Houston based dance music group – kick things off a spirited DJ set.

The main event follows at 8pm, featuring the roll-on-the-ground-laughing, all-ages comedy of Doomsday Wrestling. Houston Press has named it Houston’s “Best Comedy Show” and the troupe has been making crowds laugh hysterically since 2003.

A mash up between WWE and a comedy sketch, the hilarious live show is appropriate for all ages. Expect broad body-slamming and faux fists flying, leaving the audience in (figurative) stitches.

Market on Main

Just a block away, Market on Main will feature some of Houston’s favorite food and vendor trucks, including Kurbside Eatz, It’s A Wrap! and Churrasco Food Truck.

The entertainment in Market Square lasts until about 9pm and all ages are welcome.

The party will continue for those who stick around and explore the neighborhood’s eclectic bars and restaurants for tasty bites and drink specials until 2am.
