Hop aboard a historic trolley and enjoy delightful holiday shopping, nostalgic treats and more in historic La Porte by the Bay this Small Business Saturday, November 28, 2015.

Take a one-of-a-kind ride on a antique trolley from The Original Trolley Company for great local shopping flavored with local bayside history on a nostalgia-filled holiday adventure.

The national Small Business Saturday campaign is a reminder to support local retailers and businesses, and the merchants of La Porte have banded together to create something truly unique to celebrate local history, the holidays and the positive impact of shopping small.

Shop Small Trolley Ride in La Porte

Shoppers and other trolley riders will visit the City’s Depot Museum plus a few of the city’s unique landmark businesses including Roelof’s Antiques, The Painted Pony N’ Quilts and Crow’s Nest Art Gallery.

Before or after the ride, shoppers will discover treat after treat along Main Street, as merchants and restaurants alike have special events and offers planned.

Holiday Specials, Offers & Sales on Main Street

Main 101 Bar & Grill will be serving up Ghiradelli Hot Chocolate (with versions for both adults and kids). Meanwhile, Mainly Drinks will be serving up warm mulled wine, Junk Junkies will be hosting their weekly Sidewalk Saturday with artisan vendors along Main Street, Treasures Unlimited will be serving up fresh Christmas cookies, and the monthly fourth Saturday craft and vendor market will play host to Santa Claus.

About La Porte by the Bay

The City of La Porte was established in 1892, with more than 120 years of rich history deeply embedded into its roots. Thanks to the Sylvan Beach Pavilion, it was a tourist destination from the 1920s to the 1940s. and this weekend, the city is harkening back to those to times while encouraging residents and visitors to shop small for Small Business Saturday.

After the rush of Black Friday, visitors will feel like they’ve taken a step back in time to a slower pace of life with no crowds, a celebration of history, and businesses that treat you like family at this Small Business Saturday in La Porte.

  • Date: Saturday, November 28, 2015
  • Times: 10am to 8pm
  • Location: The Trolley will load and unload at 302 W Main Street, La Porte, TX 77571. Visitors are welcome to drive their own vehicles to visit Main Street shops and all other La Porte shops and destinations.
  • Admission: Trolley rides are free and it’s free to visit the shops and locations throughout La Porte, many will be offering free treats, specials and sales.
