See the Houston Symphony’s perform great musical television themes of today and the past at TV’s Greatest Hits at Jones Hall from Friday, September 26 to Sunday, September 28, 2014.
The symphony salutes the music of the small screen, with guest host and singer/comedienne Nicole Parker of MADtv and Broadway’s Wicked and guest conductor Steven Reineke.
Program highlights include the theme from HBO’s beloved Game of Thrones, the idyllic British setting of Downton Abbey, Beatles hysteria surrounding their 1964 appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, and a tribute to iconic variety show performances from Carol Burnettt to Judy Garland.
