Feast your taste buds on fresh oysters, clams gumbo, seafood, sandwiches and comfort food at this charming neighborhood dining destination in the Heights.

Sleek yet comfortable, Liberty Kitchen draws many casual Houstonians who care about serious seafood. Executive Chef Lance Fegen created the restaurant and bar, now known simply at “the Kitchen” to many of its regulars, to be a casual and comfortable neighborhood destination that didn’t slack on its menu.

Local fish come in fresh from the boat on a daily base, and local ingredients and foods are a menu staple. The oyster bar features fresh oysters from all three U.S. coasts, a rarity in Houston.

Although seafood is a speciality, the menu includes a range of sandwiches, burgers, steaks, several specialty mac and cheeses and other comfort foods. A full breakfast and brunch menu (including a sliced brisket cheddar omelette, red velvet tacos, and chicken and pecan waffles) is served until 2:30pm on weekends. A limited breakfast menu is featured in a breakfast happy hour from 8am to 10pm with plates priced from $2 to $3.50.
