• Forever Motown at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Thursday to Saturday | FREE – A signature performance during Miller Outdoor Theatre’s centennial year, this concert brings the lead singers of iconic groups like the Four Tops, the Temptations and the Marvelettes for an all-star performance of legendary Motown tunes over three straight nights. 8pm.
• Comicpalooza at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – Across three days, faithful fans of comic books, anime, gaming and pop culture are invited for a weekend throwdown with their favorite creators, celebrities and fellow fanatics. Shop an artisan market, take in spectacles throughout the convention floor, snap photos with cosplayers and much more. Single-day passes range from $50 to $74, increasing at the door. Weekend passes are $105 and up; $6 for ages 6 to 12; free for ages 5 and under. Times vary.

• Final Weekend: Lain Singh Bangdel: Moon Over Kathmandu at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday to Sunday – Get a last look in the final days of this exhibition of artwork by Indian novelist, art historian, academician and painter Lain Singh Bangdel, often referred to as the “father of modern art” in Nepal. Times vary.
• Run to Remember at Memorial Park | Friday to Monday | FREE – A flag-lined Seymour Lieberman Trail in Memorial Park offers all Houstonians a chance to run or walk one mile (or more, if you choose) to commemorate loved ones who have served in the armed forces. This is free and open to all who wish to participate; registration helps the Memorial Park Conservancy tally the total number of miles from all participants. Park hours are 6am to 11pm daily.
• Otaku’s Camouflage Food Festival at No Label Brewing Co. | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – The Katy brewery hosts this two-day family food and anime event that features more than 30 food, drink and anime vendors, plus voice actors, sumo wrestling, cosplay contests, live music and more. Times vary.

• Fairview at 4th Wall Theatre Company | Daily | Opening Weekend – This winner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama explores assumptions and biases on race and identity, seen through the lens of the Fraisers, a middle-class American family preparing to host a dinner party. $32 and up. • Houston Ballet presents Divergence at Wortham Center | Thursday, Saturday & Sunday | Opening Weekend – Stanton Welch’s choreography is set against the music of George Bizet in a production that also includes Aszure Barton’s Angular Momentum, an homage to Space City. $25 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Dirt Dogs Theatre presents August: Osage County at MATCH | Friday to Sunday | Opening Weekend – Unsettling secrets and repressions rear their heads as the Weston family gathers in the wake of the disappearance of their patriarch—and harsh truths open old wounds. $30. Showtimes vary.
• Catastrophic Theatre presents A Maroon’s Guide to Time & Space at MATCH | Friday to Sunday | Opening Weekend – Candice D’Meza’s play is a genre-bending experiential exploration of quantum mechanics that uses imagination to liberate oneself from the confines of linear time. • Brother Toad at Ensemble Theatre | Daily | Ongoing – Teenage Marques and his friend are sitting in their car one night when gunfire breaks out, killing Marques’ friend. When his uncle works to stage a march against gun violence, and Marques’ family doesn’t want to participate, tensions fly in this timely play. This production runs through Sunday, June 4. $34 and up. • Torera at Alley Theatre | Daily | Ongoing – This world premiere is the story of a Mexican girl who wants to be a bullfighter. But can she overcome entrenched societal traditions to achieve her dream? The play was part of the Alley’s All New Festival in 2022. This production runs through Sunday, June 4. $51. Showtimes vary.
• The Best of Everything at Main Street Theater | Daily | Ongoing – Catch this new adaptation of Rona Jaffe’s 1958 bestseller about ambitious secretaries in the big city. $10 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Stages presents Drag Wonderettes at the Gordy | Friday to Sunday | Ongoing – The Marvelous Wonderettes gets a new twist, with this high drag performance featuring songs you know and love from the 1960s like “Stupid Cupid,” “The Shoop Shoop Song” and more. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Music Box Theater presents The Greatest Hits Album Side B: Moving Boxes at Queensbury Theatre | Friday to Sunday | Ongoing – The cabaret troupe celebrates the move to its new home in CityCentre with an evening of jazz, pop, rock and Broadway tunes from the 1960s through the ‘90s. $38 and up. • TUTS presents Rent at Hobby Center | Daily | Final Weekend – The epic musical re-imagining of La Boheme became an anthem to love and acceptance that won the Pulitzer Prize and multiple Tony Awards.
