• Houston Hoops House at Bayou Music Center | Thursday & Friday – In the lead up to the Final Four, Bayou Music Center becomes the Hoops House for three days of riveting basketball competitions, where the future stars of the courts display their prowess at nationally-televised events. • March Madness Music Festival at Discovery Green | Friday to Sunday | FREE with registration – Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Nas X, Maggie Rogers, Tim McGraw and more take to the stage for a weekend of concerts that bring Final Four energy and excitement to the Bayou City. • Men’s Final Four Fan Fest at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – Skill tests for all ages, championship highlights and the chance to get autographs from former NCAA players and coaches are just part of the fun at this weekend event. $8 in advance; $10 at the door; free for ages 12 and under. • Bay Area Ballet Theatre presents A Night in Paris at University of Houston Clear Lake | Friday to Sunday – You’ll be swept away to the City of Light in this program that features choreography inspired by the paintings of Degas and Debussy’s Clair de Lune, along with several new works. $24 and up. • ART&: Women in Power at Bisong Gallery | Friday to Sunday – This three-day event features artist exhibitions, discussions, live music and poetry, yoga sessions and more for a weekend of empowering art in the name of women and power. $20 and up. Times vary. 
• Pop Culture Power Show at Stafford Centre | Friday to Sunday – Meet comic creators, voice actors and cosplayers at this family-friendly comic convention weekend that also features local vendors dealing pop culture memorabilia, toys, vintage and more. $24.99 and up. Times vary. 
• Sugar Land Arts Fest 2K23 at Smart Financial Centre Plaza | Saturday & Sunday – More than 1000 visual artists from around the country will showcase their works, allowing guests the opportunity to purchase original painting, sculpture, jewelry and more. Live music, food, wine and other activities are also available. Single day tickets are $10; $15 for two days. 10am to 4pm.
• Galveston Steampunk Festival at Galveston Railroad Museum | Saturday & Sunday – Fans of the steampunk aesthetic will assemble for this two-day fest that celebrates the sci-fi subgenre that crosses Victorian-era tech with retrofuturism. Throughout the first day, fans can take in live music and special performances, participate in a costume contest and enjoy games like archery, axe throwing and more. On Sunday, festival-goers and the general public can hop in a Model T and cruise through Galveston’s Victorian history, or goin in two evening walking ghost tours. $35 and up; $15 for ages 7 to 12. • Clyde’s at Ensemble Theatre | Daily | Ongoing – For the formerly incarcerated employees who work at Clyde’s, the truck stop is a place for them to find purpose. Can they rebuild their lives and dreams of more when a callous owner tries to keep them under her thumb? This production runs through Sunday, April 16. $34 and up. Showtimes vary.
• 4th Wall Theatre Co. presents Sanctuary City at Spring Street Studios | Daily | Ongoing – Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Martyne Majok explores the lives of two undocumented friends, trying to find a place for themselves and each other in a world filled with uncertainty. This production runs through Saturday, April 15. $32 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Stages presents The Bride Or: Does This Dress Make Me Look Married? at the Gordy | Daily | Ongoing – Beloved to Houston audiences for her role as Sister in Late Night Catechism, Denise Fennell offers her unique perspective on the institution of marriage. Mere hours before her wedding, a bride of a certain age questions everything, including whether she should get married at all. This production runs through Sunday, May 14. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
• The Odyssey at Alley Theatre | Thursday, Saturday & Sunday | Ongoing –This new take on the epic story of Odysseus rings with Caribbean rhythms. Look for an adventure that includes rivals attempting to take Odysseus’ thrown, a trip to hell, stormy seas and more. This production runs through Sunday, April 16. $51 and up. Showtimes vary.
• Stages presents cullud wattah at the Gordy | Thursday & Friday | Final Weekend – This multi-generational saga unfolds against the backdrop of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. The New York Times called it “haunting and eye-opening.” It follows a family’s quest for justice, going up against powerful entities, and how that quest could be its undoing. $30 and up.
