Shop from artisans, farmers, small businesses, and local vendors at a huge slate of indoor and outdoor pop-up markets taking place in and around Houston in August 2021.

Over the last several months, Houston has seen dozens of local vendors and farmers markets spring up across the city, offering everyone a chance to shop local and support small businesses in H-Town.

We’ve gathered 10 of the most enticing markets taking place across the city of Houston in August 2021.

Pop-Up Markets in Houston: August 2021

Many of these markets continue to adapt to evolving health and safety precautions, so be sure to check with the organizer before attending for their policy on things like face masks, social distancing, or whether it allows cash transactions.

  • Main Street Trade Days in La Porte | Saturday, August 7 | No Cover – Head to La Porte’s Main Street and get digging for special finds in antiques, collectibles, re-purposed furniture, and other goods from artisan vendors among the eclectic shops and eateries in old La Porte. 10am to 2pm.
  • First Saturday Arts Market in the Heights | Saturday, August 7 | No Cover – The final evening of First Saturday Arts Market has arrived, before the late-summer shift to the afternoons, and it comes alongside the unofficial White Linen Night this year. Stop by 19th Street in the Heights for artisan goods and works by local artists, plus live music and food truck bites for purchase. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Hip-Hop Vintage Flea Market at Ironworks | Sunday, August 8 | No Cover – Shop from all female-owned businesses and vendors, as well as artists, while enjoying tunes from DJ Gracie Chavez at the Ladies First Edition of the Hip-Hop Vintage Flea Market. 2pm to 7pm.
  • Lyons Ave. Night Market at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | Every Thursday | No Cover – From the mind behind Freedman’s Town Farmers Market (taking place every Saturday) comes this Thursday evening market in collaboration with Saint Arnold Brewing Company, elevating Black-owned small businesses and vendors along Lyons Avenue in Historic Fifth Ward. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Curb Market Montrose Kick-Off Weekend at Westheimer & Montrose | Friday, August 13 to Sunday, August 15 | No Cover – Curb Coalition kicks off a new market in Montrose this month, right on the corner of Westheimer and Montrose Boulevard. The event features a slate of local vendors alongside free music and food truck bites. Friday and Saturday 6pm to 10pm; Sunday 10am to 2pm.
  • Punk Rock Garage Sale at Brash Brewing Company | Sunday, August 15 | No Cover – Shop pop culture memorabilia, toys, music equipment, zines, VHS and DVDs, clothing, art, and more from over two dozen vendors at this monthly, indoor/outdoor market in Independence Heights. 1pm to 5pm.
  • HTX Market at Urban South HTX Brewery | Sunday, August 15 | No Cover – The Sawyer Heights brewery opens up their doors every third Sunday of the month for an indoor/outdoor market that features local artisans and small businesses doling out artisanal eats, jewelry, apparel, accessories, soaps, scrubs, candles, and much more. 1pm to 6pm.
  • BLCK Market Food & Beverage Xpo at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | Saturday, August 21 – The twice-monthly BLCK Market hosts a special Xpo edition this month, which takes place on a quarterly basis and provides an industry-focused marketplace for Black-owned small businesses and vendors. This event will focus on food and beverage providers in Houston. Limited quantities of free tickets are available; $5 after that. 1pm to 5pm.
  • Flea by Night at Discovery Green | Saturday, August 21 | No Cover – The evening market returns to Discovery Green, bringing with it a variety of vendors for visitors to shop art, jewelry, furniture, collectibles, and much more. Live music and food trucks will also be on-site. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Lunar Market at Liberty Station | Saturday, August 21 | No Cover – Celebrate the full moon in Aquarius as HTX Market takes over Liberty Station on Washington Avenue for a night of local vendors, tarot readings, food trucks, DJs, and drinks from Eureka Heights Brewing and Hendricks. 8pm to 11pm.
