See UpStage Theatre bring the classic Broadway thriller, which inspired the 1967 Audrey Hepburn film, to shocking life in The Heights from Friday, May 24 through Saturday, June 8, 2013.

The suspenseful thriller written by Frederick Knott, who authored Dial M for Murder, originally stunned and engaged audiences on Broadway in 1966. It’s hit status quickly led to the production of the classic Hepburn film.

On both stage and screen, Wait Until Dark tells the tale of Susy Hendrix, a blind housewife who must outwit a trio of criminals who have invaded her New York apartment. But this is no Home Alone. After murdering her husband, the gangsters terrorize Hendrix in pursuit of a heroin-filled doll they believe she has in her possession. The play is masterfully written, building to a breath-stopping finale.

The play is directed by David Hymel.
